Today, Iโm standing as your Greens candidate for Braddon to make sure no one has to go through what my family did. Safe, secure housing should be a rightโnot a privilege.
๐ Vote 1 Vanessa Bleyer, Greens for Braddon.
I was in my teens when my family was evicted by a big bank.
We had just 48 hours to leave our home.
That moment has never left meโand itโs why Iโm so passionate about fighting for housing justice.
Together, we can protect this special place and grow regional jobs through nature-based tourism.
Let's make this vision real ๐

Jobs and nature go hand in hand in Braddon.
Tourists come to see our forests, coastlines, and mountains.
Letโs protect themโand create more jobs doing it.

I had a laugh with Bob in Devonportโbut behind the smiles is a serious truth.
Bob lives with Multiple Sclerosis and told me : he canโt access the healthcare he needs.
Heโs not alone. Tasmanians deserve better healthcare, not a billion dollar stadium

Kindness belongs in Parliament just as much as policy. Letโs bring compassion, integrity, and real action for Braddon to the decision-making table.
๐ Vote 1 Vanessa Bleyer, Greens for Braddon.

Met Thomas on the streets of Ulverstone.
And asked him : โWho are you voting for?โ
Thomas : ๐ โYouโbecause youโre kind and genuine.โ

Brenda said it best:
๐ฟ โThe environment is a big issue. We need an environmental lawyer in ParliamentโVanessaโs our girl.โ
Tasmania deserves a strong legal voice to stand up for nature.
Iโm ready to take that fight to Parliament.
"Stop the stadium. Protect the forests.โ ๐ณ
Thatโs what I heard from Peter โand itโs what so many people across Braddon are saying loud and clear.
Tasmanians are ready for a government that protects what we love, not one that sells it out.
๐ Vote 1 Vanessa Bleyer for Braddon.

At a time when the rate of young people with mental health issues is growing, we should be prioritising studentsโ mental healthโnot a new billion-dollar AFL stadium.
Letโs invest where it matters.

Tasmanian students are waiting more than 100 days just to see a school psychologist. Thatโs unacceptable.
The Greens have a clear plan to fix this:
โ
Fund 20 additional school psychologists statewide
โ
Improve student wellbeing and learning outcomes
โ
Ease the pressure on our overworked teachers
Together, weโre standing up for something thatโs long overdue:
An environmental lawyer in Parliamentโsomeone who understands the law and uses it to protect Tasmaniaโs natural beauty. ๐ณโฐ๏ธ
Iโm ready to be that voice. ๐

Tasmania is wild, beautiful, and worth fighting for. ๐๐ณ
Iโve spent over 20 years as an environmental lawyerโnow Iโm ready to take that fight to the heart of decision-making.
Vote to get an environmental lawyer into Parliament. Tasmania deserves it. ๐

This election, Paul voted Greens for the first time.
Itโs time. To protect our waterways, forests, and communities -

Met Paul while doorknocking in East Devonport โan underground miner, logger, and one of the early fish farmers in Macquarie Harbour.
Heโs seen it all, and heโs had enough of environmental damage.
๐ฌ โQuite frankly, all this rubbish has to stopโand we need to get the plastics out of the water.โ
Tasmanians deserve proper healthcare, not a billion-dollar stadium we canโt afford.
Letโs put people first. ๐

๐ฌ โI love the AFL, but right nowโwhat we really need are hospitals, specialists, and housing.โ
Thatโs what we heard while door-knocking in East Devonport , and theyโre absolutely right.
So many of you told me youโre voting for the environment this electionโand I hear you loud and clear.
Iโll fight to end native forest logging and stop the damage caused by industrial salmon farms.
Let's protect Braddon together ๐

A wind farm here would be devastating.
Iโve stood beside the Circular Head Coastal Awareness Network for years, fighting to protect this fragile ecosystem.
We can support climate actionโwithout sacrificing our natural heritage. ๐๐ณ

Robbins Island is one of the most ecologically significant places in Tasmania.
Itโs home to the last disease-free population of Tasmanian devils on Earth.
Thank you to all who attended, and thank you for your questions. #vanessa4change #vanessa4braddon
What a great event at Ulverstone last night with @senatorsurfer.bsky.social and Basil OโHallaran where we talked about all of the things that are more important for the government to spend money on than a new billion dollar stadium in Hobart, such as health, housing and education.
But the truth is, the laws arenโt strong enough. Itโs time to take the fight from the courtroom to Parliament.
Iโd be honoured to represent Braddon with the Tasmanian Greens ๐

That calling led me to become a lawyer. I moved to the Tamar Valley, fought the pulp mill, stood up for endangered species, helped stop greyhound cruelty, and defended the rights of everyday Tasmaniansโlike the long-term resident I helped stay in his home at a caravan park.
"Who is Vanessa Bleyer?โ
When I was 10, I wrote a poem about a Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagleโdespite never having set foot in Tasmania. Even then, I felt a deep connection to this place and a calling to protect it.
Letโs stop wasting public money on stadiums and start investing in what really matters: housing and healthcare.
Vote 1โ7 Greens this July 19.

Weโre in a housing crisisโand itโs hitting Braddon hard.
Thatโs why Iโm calling for $100 million per year to build 200 new public homes across Tasmania. ๐ก
We can fund it by making big corporations pay their fair shareโjust like the rest of us.
