The fact that these people can’t recognize that getting arrested will have approx. 0 effect on their lives (if they get arrested at all, unlikely) compared to the average person is wild to me. Like yes, YOU should be on the front lines of protest, you privileged idiots.

I’m not deleting any social media accounts (other than TikTok bc of their cringe ass “thank you Supreme Leader Trump” nonsense) but I am making an effort to be on them less - will take any tips towards that end. Dealing with minor FOMO but excited to have more time for non-screen activities 😌

Something about seeing (read: officiating) graduation bouts for rookies is just so heartwarming and sweet (and messy and kinda funny). I did a mini one today (a 20 minute game in between 2 halves of a regular scrimmage for fully grown skaters) and I have one for my home league in 2 weeks! 🥹
Completely valid approach except roller derby isn’t big enough to be on TV currently (sigh, if only) and also isn’t structured the way, say, football is to where one could reasonably know what game you’re referencing so the better question would be “is there a roller derby league around here?”
I have moved cross country twice and somehow still have what feels like an unmanageable amount of stuff to move a 10 minute walk away. Like how? I know I purged A LOT of stuff for each of those two moves. Maybe I need to do that Swedish Death Cleaning thing
The worst thing about moving is it forces you to confront the sheer amount of ✨stuff✨ you own - I just packed a massive box and it barely made a dent in my office / craft room 🫠

roller derby is so fun because you have no idea how old anybody is (is your friend 15 years older or younger than you??) and people with derby names like benadryl cumberbitch and terrorist are named stacy and alex
I got to spectate a game where people I know were playing for the first time ever - being allowed to cheer is actually wild and felt very unnatural, but so fun. 😭

If derby has taught me nothing else, it has taught me that I am both willing and able to wake up before 8am on a Saturday 😌 Always worth it, but extra worth it today bc I get to have pre-Dirty Fest breakfast with old friends who I haven’t seen in like a year since they live near the venue.
