The best way to reduce the cost of Medicaid is to name and shame big employers that pay their full time employees so little, they qualify for Medicaid
Help us to hold the tension
Of who we are
And who we could be.
Free us from what entangles us so that,
In You, we may love others and work
For the flourishing of all people.
O God, thank You for
Reauthoring our
Small notions of freedom
And for offering a
Better way.
Amen.

O God, what is freedom
If it is not for everyone?
O Christ, in Your abundance,
Help us to be a family that loves
The people across from us—
And the people around the world from us.
Help us not to lose sight
Of Your reflection
In our local and global neighbors. (1/2)
Congress? You awake?
"This joy is love dancing with reality, humanity. I saw the complex and complicated relationship with hope, a tragic but necessary one if it is to become what it can become — beautiful." Danté Stewart, "Shoutin’ in the Fire”

“[I]t’s not just the books under fire now that worry me. It is the books that will never be written. The books that will never be read. And all due to the fear of censorship. As always, young readers will be the real losers.”

Loyalty should never come at the expense of integrity.
Anyone who asks you to violate your values doesn’t deserve your allegiance. Respecting your boundaries is a foundation of trust.
The people worthy of commitment expect you to stand by your principles, not conform to theirs.
“When I ask, what does it mean to be human? It's always myself as a human being that's asking. What is consciousness? It's my consciousness that’s asking...” —James Finley

Legal experts say states could help married women who have changed their last names by accepting documents like a legal decree or a marriage certificate, but it might not fix the issue for all.
Elon Musk has succeeded in spite of the way he treats others, not because of it.
Belittling is not a leadership strategy—it reflects a lack of self-control. Demeaning doesn't get results—it thwarts productivity.
Disrespect for the status quo can be a virtue. Disrespect for people is a vice.
Either way, WHY?!?! Jurassic Park 8 coming soon
We shouldn’t ask kids what they want to be when they grow up. It encourages them to define themselves in terms of work.
Who we become is not a question of career—it’s a matter of character.
The highest aspiration is to be a person of generosity, integrity, humility, curiosity, and wisdom.
A pastel colored graphic comparing the cons of real chickens versus the pros of toy chicks. Text is as follows: Real Chickens Catch and transmit Bird Flu Have sharp beaks and talons Need lots of space and special housing to protect them from predators (and wild birds carrying Bird Flu) Poop a lot Even the hens can be very loud Are prone to numerous ailments that require treatment from specialist vets Stuffed Chicks Don't catch or spread Bird Flu Require no space at all Soft and cute Live forever Don't poop Don't eat Don't peck you Don't cluck loudly and screech Never need to go to the vet
Baby chicks were never an appropriate Easter gift for children, but especially not now with the spread of Bird Flu. 🐣 Get a toy chick and sponsor a rescue bird instead! www.merrymacfarmsanctuary.org/meet-the-birds
The pollen is so thick here in GA that you have to chew it after taking a breath. We need a spring hibernation to get through pollen season, and maybe a summer hibernation for the heat. #georgiapollen
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” Happy birthday, Mr. Rogers. www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/mr-...
Spectacular green, crested turaco. Shows large crimson wing patches in flight. Found in forest and dense woodland. Acts like a typical turaco, bouncing through the trees, and flying occasionally with short bursts of wingbeats and long glides.

Do you think that we human beings find it easier to condemn people than to forgive them?
