Okay, but if Tua is anything like Ash from the Evil Dead series, then we can lop as many parts off to create smaller feistier Tuas who then compose an entre miniature football...damnit, lost Denny again.

The Parochial Fiefdom Of Every Municipality Not Named Seattle In Washington State
Oh my god this sensation! I'm 42 and who is that young man barely dry behind the ears even?
That's a Bond plot isn't it? There are times where it feels like 'the legitimate but grimy' is a better deal with less downsides so long as the whole thing mostly works together.
Man, I hate this makes me want to play Diplomacy with some of y'all!
This is what I'm saying man, its super terrifying and my hunch is that's a 'last move before game over' for Iran because it is most definitely a point of no return, dead zoning the one thing that area has that everyone else still needs from gas to fertilizer to plastics.

The opening build up is divine but it turns into 'Happy and you know it', if this could just be the intro for 3 minutes...
Heck, even going for dirty bombs to very effectively 'salt the enemies fields' where fields are metaphorical...is an option. Who wants to be first to eat that retaliatory threat?
Crises precipitates change, and here we are at the margin of 'perception is reality' except for the spoken perceptions not matching how we act around reality.
Way more studious people full well knew of coinciding 1919 Flu with fascist uptake in the wake of WWI just ending, and how none of those people had a fucking clue on contesting it because they probably had less of a grasp on mass trauma than us and YET, YET, follow in those footsteps.
Oh and another thing is, and I'm not like Mr. Academic Study or Dr. Theory or anything like that, but I can not fucking emphasize enough the psyche carnage of Covid where everyone who has survived to this day acts a lot less shaken by it than the demonstrable society they compose acts.
I'm not overly familiar with Maxx but is he someone the Hawks would really need or want? honestly, I didn't want to touch anything related to Pete after 2018 so I am purposefully ignorant of anything Raiders besides Pete, Geno and Tom Brady at this point.
To the OP point - the incapability and/or fear of admitting shit has been lost and we will lose more, even through a headfake or whipsaw, is a huge break from 'we gotta make the rubes feel like everything is okay with us rather than alarm them that it's not'
Retaining an incumbency requires engaging in 'be thankful for the rainmakers, who have made it rain so good' rhetoric, but then there's genuinely no clue on what to improve, where to improve, and failures along the way as rhetorical olive branch recognition.
Something that Liberals and/or Electoralists can't grasp with their singleminded focus on State Directive being everything is they can't really tell where things are situationally at - every victory lionizes past failures...but doesn't inoculate against future losses. It's too limited to succeed.
The latest polls shows that less than 40% of people are convinced that ICE should exist at all.
The disparity between the number of politicians calling to abolish ICE and the proportion of the population that is clamoring to illustrates the fundamentally reactionary character of all politicians.
And even though I loathe joyless Marxists, they do have a point about celebrating the wrong efforts for the wrong reasons, and prematurely celebrating mistaken relief as the start of real change.
When some of us anti-electoralists talk shit about dancing in the streets over an election, we aren't smart or wise, we just aren't desperate enough to fool ourselves about Big Things Happening that look completely fucking moronic by what happens next.
This is also one of the things where the perpetual desperate hope for rounding a bend of suffering creates so many fucking headfakes to get out from under it, and since its unfought for and unearned in any capacity, it never actually comes and is just jubilation over potential that'll surely fail.
Hot even as a lego!

And yes, repeating big fibs to soothe a psyche are practice for any fib to soothe psyche, why you don't fib.
FWIW, you do get over weird guilt of 'doing enough to persuade' when you realize they were trying to persuade you into pretending for their own psyche benefit but that happened in 2022 for me at least. Can't spend time on those who want you to bend towards their surreal retreat from the suffering
In some situations, you'd let the standers die in the fire after begging them to ford the flames from the other side of them, because you're not going to make multiple transits when they could make the single one to save themselves, and won't.
This isn't close enough to that.
It clearly is difficult to be decided as shown by who is decided, but it isn't beyond reach shown by those who have become decided.
This is why I'm also softer in some ways on making the leap than others are, but absolutely apoplectic about standing in place denying a leap needs to be made cause it'll all be okay. It clearly has degenerated with increasingly galling notions this is how it is and should be, it'll blow over.
We all fucking lost but at least the leapers knew it by 2023.
It just hurts so bad to the point of crying that we all had the opportunity to take a leap of faith into a relative unknown and some of us did, and many more were like 'can't wait to get back to normal' and they never got it despite 'winning' that battle.
