People treat rules like they are an active infringement on their life but even in rules lite games (and don't get me started on how troubled that phrase is) there are inherent rules (societal convention) that they are using to shore up the play of their games

I'm excited to give it a try. It's such a pretty pen. Planning on filling it tonight.

A Conklin edura deco crest in demonstrator blue nestled in its box alongside the gold spot special edition kaweco sport. The endura is a clear fountain pen sheathed in a web of blue metal with rose gold accents. As a demonstrator it is designed so you can see the ink inside. Unseen because the cap it on but I got it with the omniflex nib. The kaweco is a plastic sport fountain pen in a metallic teal with silver sparkles. It has the goldspot logo on it in silver.

One failed wisdom save later...

In my defense I have a -5 against demonstrators and just *look* at it. Plus it has a flex nib. I didn't have a flex nib.

And. And. And I didn't have a sport either. And it's teal and sparkly just like my other sparkly teal pens...

It's time! Nominations are now open for the 2026 Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction, which will be given to a work of imaginative fiction, published in 2025, that reflects the concepts and ideas that were central to Ursula’s own work.

Ok, I need some happy books and that's not something I excel at picking out. Preference for SFF, but I'll take anything.

Should be a temporary shift, but at least I finished On Vicious Worlds yesterday (excellent book). I'm currently working on the first book in bobiverse (so far so good).

Reading Report: February 2026 Tiny baby primates, mysterious medieval tunnels, and questioning why we write about so many kingdoms.

Things that brought me joy in Feb included a baby slow loris, deep rock galactic survivor, and life advice from a decor blog.
