I'm not a fan of games being exclusive to one platform but one area I could appreciate, particularly with less technically powerful consoles, is the development of art styles associated with those limitations. That can give those games such a distinct look.
I hate the "Instant Success Or Bust" mentality a lot of companies have these days. I was thinking about major franchises the other day which weren't initially successful or struggled. To name a few that came to mind, Gundam, Lupin the Third, Mega Man and Star Trek.

It's so easy to get lost in your own little world when it comes to media criticism. I've fallen into that trap sometimes.
I do think that storytelling is generally more important than art when it comes to animation but I still think it's something that shouldn't be overlooked. A distinct, rich art style enhances animated films and series.
In theory, all the difficulty settings in a game should be equally tested to make sure they are fair and fun. However, it feels like this isn't usually the case. In many ways, it feels like the middle settings are tested more than the highest and lowest. Wonder if that's true.

Bluepoint Studios being shut down is tragic in more ways than one. I want to highlight that Sony has a lot of games and IP that are currently unavailable or in limbo. Bluepoint Studios would've been perfect to focus on remasters but Sony foolishly ignored this option.
I didn't think I'd 100% Freedom Planet but it became quite a comfort game on my Steam Deck. Fantastic game that I'd strongly recommend to fans of 2D Sonic games or 2D Sonic-like games.

I love the philosophy of Nightdive Studios but I do wish that their genre coverage was a little more varied. Mainly FPS games with a few RPGs and Point and Click games. Would love to see more titles given the same treatment.

Writing, especially creative writing, is surprisingly difficult sometimes. An exaggerated example but it reminds me of that line from Futurama "It took an hour to write, I thought it would take an hour to read." It takes a while to write something that people will blitz through.
Art Direction vs. Technical Fidelity is a talking point in video games but one I think about is the shift from 2D to 3D in Ace Attorney and Zero Escape. It's not that they're bad but I prefer the 2D artwork. I appreciate Danganronpa V3 on that front since they resisted change.

Sounds like they might've just fixed the biggest issue with the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection. Any lingering issues I should be aware of or is it finally good now?
If I think that a service that wants me to subscribe is not trying to improve itself beyond content then I feel far less inclined to actually subscribe. Content is only one aspect of a service but it's focused on these days to the detriment of other aspects.
It's weird in a way because we don't really have distinct portable systems anymore unless you count mobile. Makes me wonder what games that have only been released on handhelds before, like Ace Attorney, will look like if they get a new game since the technology is so different.
