I also appreciated this episode. The based post-credits rant was in rare form, too.

I'm not sure why it became 'Murican to ignore anything but diesel-truckin' coal-diggin' smoke-spewin' big-blocks. But nobody can stop solar from saving the world when it's literally 10x cheaper than not saving it.

I mean it was obvious to the audience. But it wasn't obvious to Dunk. Performances have been unimpeachable.

To follow up here: Yeah, it's really good

Exactly the same for me, I lasted maybe 3 eps into HotD. I guess this one is based on the pre-existing Dunk & Egg stories by The Martin Who Shall No Longer Be Arsed. So maybe that makes a difference

OK, I will watch it based on this. Underrated movie

If the right being completely unhinged and intent on burning the US economy and world standing to the ground isn't enough to stop the left from gatekeeping themselves out of consideration, then we're cooked. Just totally cooked.

California AB432 | 2025-2026 | Regular Session Bill Text (2025-10-13) Menopause. [Consideration of Governor's veto pending.]

I was going to say "But I heard he vetoed it because it allows naturopathic quackery". But then I read the bill (and so should we all: legiscan.com/CA/text/AB43...)

I cannot find a reasonable angle to defend Newsom's veto. All the naturopathic stuff is just education that "the board shall consider"

If you're thinking of adding AI to your product, first ask how many people have asked for AI to be added to your product. If the answer is somewhere around "zero," you don't need to add AI to your product. I promise.

I see what's happened. Matthew 5:6 says "blessed are those who hunger and thirst to see _right_ prevail". Not "_the_ right".

Understandable mistake, no harm no foul

They should switch the AM/PM on 12 AM and 12 PM. Because it makes no sense. 12:20 AM is before 10:14 AM, but 11:30 AM is after? Ludicrous. Make midnight be 12 PM and it changes to AM at 1. Problem solved.

It sucks how last names were invented so long ago and then they just stuck, you know?

Like my last name is Smith which means my ancestor worked with metal. But we'll never have, like, a John Thoughtleader or a Jill Projectmanager

I chuckled at the unit conversion trolling.

But with each reminder about the refrigeration cycle I get more frustrated about what we're leaving on the table. Rejected A/C heat into hot water or pool? Rejected ... cold (?) into moisture farming like Luke Skywalker? Why can't I buy these things

And got a bunch of real-life golf pros to have actually significant roles in a golf movie. Probably once you bring more than one non-actor into a movie for more than a cameo, you've set the ceiling on what you're trying to achieve. But I think they all did great and it was fun to watch them. (4/4)

I loved how they got Happy & Shooter on the same side, great plot device. Loved how they brought every surviving cast member from the original and wrote around the issues (I'm guessing Julie Bowen gave them 2 days of filming... but they worked that into the plot in a really true fashion) (3/4)

It doesn't hit the same as the original, *as a movie*.

It's a love letter from Adam Sandler to his fans, his career, and mostly his family. Which is a nice thing to watch. You're acutely aware it's a movie – there's no suspension of disbelief. Which is totally fine, but different. (2/4)

I watched Happy Gilmore (original) with my wife & kids last week, and honestly it holds up as a hilarious and well-structured movie (btw, the original inexplicably leaves Netflix in 2 days, so watch it now).

We watched the sequel this week. It's sweet and funny. (1/4)

Humans: Sure AI can take most jobs. But at least it can't _really_ understand Hemingway, right? πŸ˜…

ML researchers: What? Why can't it understand Hemingway? We need to solve this immediately. Here are 7 Hemingway Understanding Models

Saw a claim that iPhones have LiDAR in them and thought there's no way it could be true. But it is. It's true. Some iPhone models have LiDAR sensors in them.
