I think this article in the MEN this week got largely overlooked but I feel these quotes hit the nail on the head:

Chelsea offered to buy him with a contract on a slightly reduced wage but he turned it down to go on loan to let his contract run down. Waste of a career
And he’ll be getting a raise this summer, along with everyone else, for being back in the CL.

It doesn’t come down to only one player but Dorgu’s our only player that provides any width on the left. Cuhna tends to drift in centrally and Shaw can’t seem to bother to even make it into the final third. Everything has been going down the right side.
While flipping thru TV channels, I randomly stumbled across one that replays old World Cup matches. The match being shown was from the 2010 WC with Spain vs Paraguay. The Spain line up is so hilariously insane I was literally laughing out loud. An embarrassment of riches.

Villa fielded a near-full strength squad away this evening. If we can’t find a way to come out and blitz them in the first 20-25 mins on Sunday, I’m going to be somewhat irked. I’m not saying we need to be up by a couple of goals but we should be running them ragged all over the pitch.
It felt like we were moving away from the Pep style of system football briefly but I think the quality of gameplay has taken a huge step backwards this year.
