I would like to think we are angered more by truth, while they’re angered by fantasy. But what is life if it is spent consuming an algorithm tailored to keep us upset. It’s a privileged stance, admittedly. But how do we strike a balance between knowing and sanity?

Every now and then I stumble on some conservative’s Facebook page who reposts 50+ conservative / anti-dem memes a day. Just vociferously consuming content that angers them - most of it only existing in a smidgen of reality. And it’s certainly a sad existence. But I think we do that on the left too.

Anyone smarter than me know if there’s a realistic path Dems could take to break up media conglomerates and end billionaire ownership of news media outlets? Feels like a large chunk of this death spiral is bc media orgs provide cover for Trump to either protect or financially benefit their owners.

It’s actually v sad that such a large chunk of the country is so reactively afraid of multiculturalism (and generally anything conservative talking heads tell them is scary) that they continually rob themselves of joy. Bad Bunny’s halftime show was a joyous treat, but they’ll never see that.

The production value, the joy, the talent. That is how we win.

The government is making the amount of work required to hire BIPOC insurmountable - every Brown and Black hire has to be accompanied with unimpeachable evidence that they were the most “qualified” candidate. Exclusively hiring the dumbest white candidates imaginable frees you from litigation.

On my way to sign my NYC lease & the sun is shining & I just had really good pasta & I know things have seemed bleak bc things are bleak & honestly celebrating personal things feels selfish & obtuse but I am very excited & happy about these few things so I will celebrate these few things.
