There have always been elements of the left who have not supported de-colonization efforts. They often hide behind the old no war but the class war slogans. Keven Mayes just put a thing talking about how this issue had kept him from supporting the Green party back in the day

Good reminder how National Party supported Labour’s Covid response from Kieran McAnulty in parliament today.
Now they hope NZ forgets as they press on with Winston Peters (another Covid response enabler’s) kangaroo court.

Collins claims teachers get an average of $147K a year and 12 weeks off. If it's such a plumb gig why are we in a teacher shortage crises and importing overseas teachers? Something doesn't add up.

Wish I got to skip hui because they were at annoying times. I wonder if "at an annoying time" is accepted by WINZ as a reason to miss their meetings

Anne Salmond: Victim of the Day
Dame Anne Salmond on a lame but personally intimidating campaign launched by Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour against academic critics of his Regulatory Standards Bill
"At a time like this, it is extraordinary that a Deputy Prime Minister here should initiate an online campaign of intimidation against university scholars, using Trumpian rhetoric and tactics to harass them for exercising their academic freedom."

A group of former MPs from across parties are running their own select committee on pay equity
A group of 10 former women MPs from across the political spectrum announced today that they have a formed what they're calling the 'people’s select committee on pay equity' to examine the Government’s changes to the Equal Pay Act.
It will serve as an extra-parliamentary committee tasked with considering public submissions and independently examining the new law. Parliament passed the law changes, under urgency, on May 12 which meant it did not go through the select committee process, or have input from the public. Finance Minister Nicola Willis said the swift process gave people 'certainty'.
Professor Marilyn Waring, a former National MP, said the former women MPs, have set up this committee to collect the evidence and hear the voices of New Zealanders regarding the policy debate on pay equity.
The People's Select Committee of 10 former MPs is taking submissions on the Pay Equity changes. Since nobody got a say before the govt passed it under urgency.
