Yep, dig it out and still have it!
At least the daylilies are edible.

My point was that the wire showed up in the picture.
I find that most of my attempts to photograph the wire don't really capture it.
I'm used to the problem being deer.
Impossible to plant trees without deer protection here.
Rabbits?
Some of my fencing efforts, a bit taller than 6 ft. Shows up well in the snow last month.
After repeatedly attempting to grow trees in those cages, I fenced in a larger area.
Fencing the deer out of several acres is simply easier and less messy-looking.
I use the 6 foot welded wire (2 x 4 inch). Usually is enough, when run inside the forest edge.
If across mowed turf? Might need height.
After seeing the bird activity on the cherry laurel, I'm digging seedlings from the garden to plant out in the bare sand next to the perimeter fence.
Last year, I took several large cherry laurel down, trying to get some of the garden space back. Feel bad about that now.
So... Hate is acceptable in Ohio schools now?
Sounds as creepy as the Rick Jackson ads running here.
Where do I post some of the women authors I've read?
Cloe Garner, Lynn Abbey, Mercedes Lackey, and Alice Hastings Bradley (who wrote as James Tiptree jr).
I read sci-fi and urban fantasy. I also read ecology and plant books, but not 5 books by the same author, male or female.
So cute!
The cedar waxwings have found the cherry laurel berries!

I planted Amorpha once at a previous garden.
Ima fan of tupelo... And pawpaw, and hazelnut.
Are the hazelnut inoculated with truffle mycorrhizae?
Can you get it done?
Is the ground frozen?
Like I said, at my house, it's simplest to plant in a nursery bed in the vegetable garden.
Unfortunately, my garden space tends to all get shaded out, necessitating creating more garden space.
Eventually, I move trees out, but they're always larger than I'd prefer.
What kind of trees?
Do you plant your tiny starts in the vegetable garden, intending to set out later as I do? Or do you prepare nursery beds specific to forestry?
Removed the paywall.
A proposal isn't a done deal, unfortunately.

Don't you think his golf courses are chemically saturated as a standard practice?
Sure, we could spray Roundup on his greens, and the players would have dirty balls, but I'm positive that every dandy lion that dares to come up gets dosed with poison.
Kinda different from that crap on our food.
Monsanto keeps their people in govt office. Doesn't matter whether red or blue, Monsanto is there.
One of the few MAHA priorities that made sense was advocating for organics, but sensible and Trump aren't ever going to be synonymous.

cat in Bucket
Cat in a bucket. Don't tell Colonel Sanders.
#caturday
Not much worse than the smell of wet dog, but cat poop runs a close second.
While I have a couple cats that get to come inside, they definitely have to poop outside.
Snake's head iris
Snake's head bulb iris, in flower now.

Ice sux.
Saw a box turtle yesterday.
Plus violets.
I've had violet flowers all winter!
I think you should post pics of flowers in the garden now.
At my house, I have beaucoups hellebores, plus daffodil and camellia, Japanese magnolia, spirea, and I saw peach trees blooming yesterday.
Definitely not too early.
Stinging nettle is supposed to be a superfood.
I've cooked with the stinging nettle from my garden a couple times, but the harvest is some painful.
Rarely see the red admiral, but the Urtica chamaedryoides are spreading.
Saw the common stinging nettles in a yard in Macon last summer.
I think that we should prioritize.
If work is keeping this from happening, maybe change to a part-time gig.

Urtica chamaedryoides
Urtica chamaedryoides at my house. I've tried cooking with it a couple times. It's a bear to run into while hand-pulling weeds in the garden. I haven't seen caterpillars yet. Will keep looking.
American Lady butterfly
This American lady butterfly has been hanging out in my garden over the last couple of days of improved weather (sunshine and warmer temps).
Seems a barely noticeable white spot in an orange bar, plus number of eyespots are the difference between the American lady and the painted lady. #butterflies
