ye I get that! I definitely spent a little time getting old windows software like certain console music players and old versions of gamemaker to run, which definitely caused a little more turbulence than a "normal person" would run into :)
I usually change wallpapers immediately but this wallpaper is so nice I still haven't gotten around to it :)

my biggest holdback was x11 and its poor multi monitor support, but wayland solved all that for me
I am just really happy to be a part of the linux movement now, even if I'm really late to the party! I hope more people continue to jump from the sinking ship that is windows
my strategy was spending the last few years with a "I will be switching to linux" mindset, I slowly switched over to only software that runs on linux which made the transition much easier! :)
I did end up using wine for a few lil apps and proton for games! and ye the progress there is incredible!
I can second that, anyone who tried 4+ years ago and came up short should try again!
yea I'm definitely late to the party, I've messed around with linux here and there since like 2012 but only just recently made the big switch to it as my main OS

the setup process is dumb though, look up "gamemaker setting up for ubuntu" they have an official guide :)
great!! GMS2 has a beta build for ubuntu and it works really well! afaik you can't make windows binaries with it but you can run Windows GMS2 via wine and do it :)
oh and speaking of wine, GM8.1/8.2 works really well on it too!
