As a (partially white) USian, I have to agree with you. We have a long way to go.

I just learned that the Japanese word for "knowledge" (η₯θ) and the word for "trivia/snippet of knowledge" (θ±η₯θ) is only distinguished by the addition of the kanji for "beans" (θ±) in front of knowledge.
trivia is just a lil bean of knowledge. That's so cute.
Two scales illustrating the social environment composed by men. The first, prefaced with "I've learned that a lot of guys visualize our social environment like this" shows over 95% of the line to depict "good men", and a small bit to illustrate "crazed evil men". The second line, prefaced with "But it's actually closer to this", is labeled as follows: at the 1/8 mark, "heroic men who will intervene" another eighth "well-meaning men who underestimate the issue", the next line, at about halfway, reads "men who think certain women deserve it (but aren't active predators)" , the line after that, "men who passively enjoy/consume/encourage predation", at the 3/4 mark, "textbook predators we're all afraid of" and a final mark nearly at the extreme end of the scale, labeled "monsters so cruel we can't even fathom them".
I don't recall where I found this, but I'd say this looks about right.
no offense but white peopleβs understanding of βgenderβ is too often βshort hair = manβ which is really really really really really really really really really really bizarre
they should invent a nap that does your chores
Shots! Shots! Shots! (I had to be REALLY careful not to let my phone auto correct to βshitsβ)
Beautiful!
I think a lot of the neurodivergent experience is being punished for asking questions so we instead decide to infer meanings and intentions and patterns based on context and cues, but because we're neurotypical, that process is extremely prone to error. so we get punished for it anyway later.

A thing that I think is good is when a human creates a piece of art
Repost your posts. Brag about your accomplishments. Get yourself treats. Be weird as fuck. Above all, do all these things for those you love too. Life is too short to try not to take up the space you need
Still chewing on this in a good way - Thank you for sharing with us π
I'm not a fictional character and these aren't Easter Eggs. The way that non-binary folk choose to present is not, ipso facto, indicative of a journey towards some other trans identity. It can ebb and flow as much as feels right to them, or based on whatever compromises they have to make.
Pro tip: donβt brag about how dishes made with raw meat or fish (tartare, poke, carpaccio, etc) are your faves and never make you sick.
I am missing the first full day of my conference because I canβt be separated from my bathroom.
Hello friends, if you have a little bit to donate, our friend @neiltheleftistcook.bsky.social is streaming for Trans Intersex Dublin Pride over www.youtube.com/live/4IPfXaf...
Pretty unbelievable that in the year of our lord 2025 people are still giving variants stupid names like Nimbus and claiming with no evidence at all that they cause made-up clinical conditions like βrazor blade throat.β
Itβs SARS-CoV-2. It causes COVID.

Chatbots β LLMs β do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When theyβre βrightβ itβs because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. Thatβs all.
I was gonna say that I forgot to mention the scientist was a woman because "woman scientist" felt redundant, but the term "scientist" is gender-neutral so I'm actually more a fan of that.
Dr Jessica McCarty writes: At a NASA Earth meeting 10 years ago, a white male post doc interrupted me to tell me that I didn't understand human drivers of fire, that I def needed to read McCarty et al. I looked him in the eye, pulled my long hair back so he could read my name tag. "I'm McCarty et al."
Found the reference:
Classic. Reminds me of the guy who tried to explain something to a scientist referencing Last Name et al, only for the scientist to turn to him and say, "I'M Last Name et al."
The real reason I'm pursuing a pathology residency.
My roommate saw me put more cheese onto a frozen pizza & it was like I unlocked something in him. I saw the wheels turning as he realized we don't have to settle for the default amount of cheese the pizza overlords offer us. What goes onto the frozen pizza is in our control. We have the power.
1. Do you believe that pathogens cause disease?
2. Why has CDC greatly reduced testing and monitoring for human H5N1 cases?
3. Do you believe that HIV causes AIDS?
4. Do you believe that the polio vaccine is safe & effective and will you commit to not changing recommendations on polio vaccination?
This must be how my cat feels when I take photos of her little toe beans.
ever been tempted to be honest when someone asks you how it's going
