All this work with Yo Yo Ma and I never stopped and got a picture with him. Until now. This was after his We The People concert in Boston. All 6 Bach cello suites. Two and a half hours of music all from memory. He's truly a treasure of our lifetime.

I was in RoF and I'm interested in this...
Even for a wise man, this was political wisdom wise beyond his years. The generations before him that inspired him to work to preserve our language. They had the same rationale he did. Mainers should learn our languages. Not the other way around. This would've been a powerful tool towards that goal.
My dad was such a proponent of our language that when the governor of Maine threatened jail time to Wabanaki chiefs for not turning over documents pertaining to our studies of water quality on our lands, dad said, "Translate them to Passamaquoddy and let them have them." Lol

Hell of an experience working with Matthew Barney and composer Jonathan Bepler. We worked with opera singers, classical musicians....I learned a lot I know that. Honestly it was this experience that gave me the confidence to work with Yo Yo Ma. I left this work wondering what else we could've done.
