Ps. Thanks for reminding me about that song.
Aha!
Rufus Harley with Sonny Rollins?
The blue of the night (no filter). Looking out from Portmarnock. Howth on the right, like a night ferry. Dots of light at sea from the fishing boats looking for razor clams.
Delighted so many people have taken something from this thread, I hope it helps!
And an unapologetic reminder that my debut novel - all makey ups, no more just remembering things and adding jokes - is out in May. It's called Prestige Drama and you can pre-order it now!

I completely agree although one issue I have encountered is that pauses (i.e. punctuation) scan slightly differently when being said aloud vs being read silently.
Ah, lovely to hear. Thank you. Hope they have a good discussion about it.

Ps. Your writing is also actually genuinely amazing. Proper good, like.
That would be amazing.
My wife bought me The Spirit Level many years ago, possibly before we even had kids. I had never been able/inclined to give it serious attention until now, which goes the show the value of letting your books select themselves when their time come.
Three points, clean sheet, job done. Not convincing in the second half but the type of game Bohs used to let slip away.
The LOITV commentary team are like two hospital radio DJs.
Bohs need to get the finger out. A couple of subs or something to regain the initiative. All over the shop in the second half so far.
Bohs in complete control here. Whelan seems to be wearing tissue boxes on his feet, which had kept it at 1-0.
I think Waterford will reset at halftime though.
Abe Simpson once again on the Waterford commentary team. Confusing Flores with McDonnell, Rooney with Devoy, Hickey with Todd.
Looks like it's wrong. Todd is starting.
Perfect - thanks!
Bohs lineup - 4231: Chorazka Flores and Hickey at centre back Rooney left back for some reason Power right back Centre mid Devoy and McDonnell Three forward midfielders Parsons, Tierney, Vaughan Whelan up front
The Bohs team for tonight.
I think the 4231 is the right formation for this Bohs team, though not keen on Rooney at LB, esp with Todd available to play in the middle - he and Hickey should continue bonding, with Flores at LB.
Hopefully @bfcdublin.bsky.social will start posting team news here.

You know that thing where you start reading the guide book and you then realise you'd better visit the place.
She handles it so well. Balances the perspectives so you get a palpable sense of the stakes without going for the obvious.

I think Celeste is now my favourite @colettesnowden.bsky.social novel.
An addictive story about a young woman who goes missing on a night out. I blazed through it.
A polyphonic novel, perfectly paced, with Colette's genius for details. The characters feel like they're sitting inches away from you.
When men came in they were given two options: black or brown.
Was chatting to a colleague from Carrickmacross. His surname is Hand and his father owned a shoe shop – Hand's Footwear.
Talking to a colleague from Mayo this evening. He said they had AI growing up – the artificial insemination man who visited the cows on the farms in a area.
