Apparently a QLD government report has concluded that I'm not a "fit or proper person". Really? They missed: slovenly, tardy, ungodly, wanton, disrespects authority and swears like a sailor

It just never stops. This ridiculous attack via media on me started mid 2023. But glad she found something to laugh about. S/
Best view of the eclipse (without driving somewhere) is from my toilet window. I'll take what I get π€·π½ββοΈ
Total lunar eclipse / Blood Moon this evening. Are the tic tok witches taking recommendations on who to curse? Because I've got a biiiig list
Good to see you, even if I was busy running around
Can't DM but could do with another volunteer.

Insta is suddenly flooding my feed with ads for fancy pet water fountains. Has my cat been messing with my algo?
SA readers & writers were devasted when Adelaide Writers Week Board destroyed AWW2026, but we stood up & got moving.
Most Constellations events are free. Kicks off today but not too late to book for some events.
See here for events details and links to bookings > writerssa.org.au/event-regist...
It's been a joy to contribute to Constellations/Not Writers Week. Over 100 speakers, 50 events, 20 locations around Adelaide & regional SA locations. Put together by community, bookshops, libraries and SA literature & publishing sector - in under 5 weeks with no prior budget. This is people power! >
666 bookings for Monday's River of Reason event π¬
I'm sure that cursed number will soon change π§Ώ
Was a joy to see
The PEOPLEβS choice
Najwan also has appearances in Sydney and Melbourne while in Australia
All three Palestinian writers that had been programmed in now-cancelled Adelaide Writers Week are participating in Rivers of Reason, alongside some of the Aboriginal writers who'd boycotted in support of Randa Abdel-Fattah. The power of community is solidarity + joy. And poetry?
Pleased to announce a last-minute addition to the Rivers of Reason: Aboriginal & Arab Writers in Conversation - a poetry reading by renown Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish. Excited that Najwan has travelled from Jerusalem and will be joining us in Adelaide. events.humanitix.com/rivers-of-re...
If you've not already booked a seat for Rivers of Reason next Monday, get on it! We might or might not have a last minute international guest that will cause a rush of bookings. More soon....

The Jewish Council of Australia condemns Benjamin Harnwell's appalling comment at the Advance conference and call on our leaders and the Antisemitism Envoy to speak out in condemnation.
I'm sitting on some exciting news that's going to make Murdoch jounos and bad-intent lobbyists' heads explode. Seeth and cope, lads
The wonderful Palestinian writer Susan Abulhawa has just published her first children's book, Palestine On The Moon.
Available at her website:

It's still:
From the river to the sea Palestine will be free.
And it will always be:
From the river to the sea until Palestine is free.
Wanting Palestinian people to be free from apartheid Israel's oppression, genocide & violent settler-colonialism is not a crime. It's not even controversial
And a few people, including writers, who were not involved in that shameful incident, reached out to offer me support. I'm also grateful to them.
PS Mean girl shit won't stop me from speaking up, standing with others. But I also refuse to be used as a doormat
Recently, a publisher and some writers fucked up in a way that was harmful and insensitive towards me. This was a form of lateral violence. Only two people apologised and expressed accountability. A Palestinian author and an Aboriginal poet. I'm grateful to both of them β€οΈ
Buying a goddamn t-shirt or putting stickers on your laptop does not make you radical. Supporting others/speaking up when they're attacked by power or peers is the bare minimum. Adopting liberatorary models of change, and not giving up when things get tough, is revolutionary
Daring to write a grant application, knowing there will be more lobbyist/media attacks if I'm successful. So be it.
But how the hell do I gather support letters when peers are already willing to throw me to those wolves?
It's still...
From the river to the sea until Palestine is free
I'm grateful to the very few people who have reached out to offer support. Journals+ that will still publish my poems, short stories & essays. I just wish care & solidarity was shown to everyone, especially when they're being targeted. I wish people would stop being cowards
And sharing these thoughts will probably increase the media harrassment and attacks from bad-intent lobbyists. Toying with isolated financially-vulnerable nobodies like me probably gives them a thrill. Sick c*nts
