Unexpected thing I learnt this morning: Marina Abramovic is such a fan of Miriam Elia (We go to the Gallery) that she gets together with friends and reads them out loud, hooting.
She didn't know Miriam but, ahead of the RA show, found her and asked her to write a life-of-Marina satire. See below.

And that was from the rather brilliant and forgotten How Buildings Learn. When the architects walk away, what actually happens. (Answer: not what they planned)

Too right. But the point about the Royals is that they turn up to things. That's what they are paid to do. Occasionally they are allowed to speak too.

If Prince Harry really wanted to wind his bro up, now's the time to turn up unannounced at a stadium in Sydney.

Read a tweet from someone blaming the Greek government. But we are in a damned if you do, damned if don’t situation.
If governments impose restrictions, there’s an almighty strop by the public. If they don’t, they are fighting wildfires, in this case literally.

Has a climate change denier yet said that the cause of the Rhodes wildfires is too many trees?
Let me know when they do.

A bit of a shocker of a week having to deal with other people’s various rages, none of which I think I have induced. (None on Blue Sky, tg) Anyway… have rolled into the Academy Club early to find this still life painting waiting to happen.

RIP Milan Kundera. Images and lines from "The Book of Laughter of Forgetting," which I read at least 30 years ago, still linger with me.

Is it dΓ©classΓ© to say I prefer one year old light red wines made by my paesano Italian relatives to a fancy fat Bordeaux?

And yes I agree with the β€œHmmm” on the other place. But the decor was funny enough to make up for it.

And I’ve just re-entered the real world outside London where everyone is banging on with real life. They seem quite content.

I’m enjoying this place so far for it’s slow and steady vibe. It’s been like inbox zero - clearing out the clutter.

@samuelmarclowe.bsky.social Hello Sam, would you be able to explain the rules of origin issue around EVs from European manufacturers. Chat over my lunch table today was that our oven-ready Brexit deal means a 30% tariff on a Volkswagen e-Up etc.

Yep. I remember arguing with the Evening Standard IT team in the early days of Tweetdeck. They wouldn’t let me install such an untested programme. Within a year it was a standard install on all our computers.

As we settle in here, I’m struck by the possibility that the lost tribe of Twitter, forced into exile by Elon, are going to end up wandering aimlessly in the digital desert, from platform to platform, never finding a permanent home, every time believing this will be the one.
