My photo shows a Roman fresco of a brown rabbit with long ears, curled on the ground, with a rounded, soft-looking body. Its head is lowered as if nibbling at three figs placed in front of it. The figs are small and round with short stems, painted in dark reddish and bluish tones. From Pompeii. Now on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.

Initially most people will be internally displaced by conflict. Most people have neither the resources or contacts to cross an international border to become a refugee. The longer a conflict goes on however the more routes are created, both in terms of smuggling and trafficking. 1/4

Portrait: stone carving of Jesus on the cross, flanked by a Roman Centurion (with whip and spear) and a soldier presenting a sponge of wine vinegar on a stick
Portrait: stone carving of St Peter carrying a book and a large key
Portrait: carved stone, depicting Jesus (with a halo) sitting on a throne and holding a cross in his left hand while raising his right hand in blessing
Portrait: close-up of a small, mischevious-looking Green Man on the 15th century font
Holy Rood, Daglingworth's main treasure is its amazing C10 carvings of the Crucifixion, St Peter (with the keys to heaven), and Christ in Majesty. They were rediscovered when the chancel arch was restored in 1850. Other gems include a Saxon sundial and (on the C15 font) a Green Man.

A big, dark coloured book of psalms, with a ribbon bookmark protruding from it. There are a handful of coloured pencil crayons lying across the top of it.
Planning a couple of "Creative Prayer for Beginners" type days and having a fun time playing with possible ideas. I'd love to hear about things people have done that are somewhere in that overlap between creativity and prayer.

No problem! I'm only vegetarian but find that a lot of what I cook is naturally vegan, or could very easily be made vegan.
In terms of this recipe, from reading the comments I chose to double the spices and stock, and added extra tomato purΓ©e.

Landscape: dark blue pasta bowl full of homemade stew (with chickpeas and spinach visible), couscous, and Greek yoghurt (swirled with red harissa paste)
Food photography is really not my strong point, but the mix of flavours in tonight's dinner was gorgeous

Please can #FaithfullyLGBT people/allies recommend resources for my friend who is wanting to explore queer-friendly interpretations of the Bible?
Preference online, as she's in Switzerland. I've directed her to @inclusivechurch.bsky.social as a starting point.

Archbishop of Jerusalem & the Middle East shares pastoral letter in light of escalating conflict
Anglican Communion News Service
Archbishop says βIn the face of such overwhelming force, we recall the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God' (Matt 5:9). Today, that calling feels heavier than ever beforeβ¦.β

This weekendβs military escalation in the Middle East marks a dangerous moment for millions of children in the region.
UNICEF is deeply concerned by reports of strikes in Iran and across the region, illustrating the grave danger for children. There are reports of schools being struck in Iran, including a girlsβ school in Minab in Hormozgan province in southern Iran. Scores of students are reportedly killed and many others injured.
UNICEF echoes the call of the Secretary-General for an immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation. UNICEF also urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint and uphold their obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law, including the protection of civilians and the essential services children rely on to survive. Targeting civilians and civilian objects, including schools, is a violation of international law.
UNICEF, together with other UN agencies and humanitarian partners, is actively assessing the situation and stands ready to scale up support to affected children and their families as needed and requested.

Statement from Rep. Ilhan Omar on Trumpβs Illegal War on Iran
βPresident Trump is unilaterally dragging this nation into an illegal and unjustified war with Iran without congressional authorization, without a clear objective, and without any imminent threat to the United States. This is a reckless abuse of power that puts both innocent civilians and American lives on the line for a conflict the American people do not want.
βAs someone who has survived the horrors of war, I know that bombs do not build peace or create stability. Military strikes will not make us safer; they will inflame tensions and push the region further into chaos. When we abandon diplomacy, we choose destruction.
βWe know who will bear the cost of this decision: innocent civilians caught in the crossfire and our young service members sent into harmβs way. This is the devastating human toll of another regime-change war. Already, children and families are paying with their lives. There is no moral or strategic justification for this bloodshed.
βThe American people are exhausted by endless wars built on false promises and paid for with American and foreign lives. Congress must reassert its constitutional authority. We must vote immediately on the War Powers resolution authored by Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie. This unlawful operation must end immediately."
