Thanks to his distinctive appearance, I've been able to recognise him easily and here he is in a park that's a couple of Kms from the lake. He seems to be everywhere at once unless he has a doppelganger

I love watching crows working on nuts. I never get bored of it. If you throw a walnut on a paved area when there's a crow around, they'll chase it ๐
I'll be keeping an eye out for them but I know not to get too close - just leave them be. Hopefully, they'll be able to fly and leave before a fox gets them
I hear them most days at the lake in winter but seeing one is hard. They blend in with the crows in the trees but they're often too timid to come down.
Yesterday, I noticed that the rooks in the city are back. Hard working birds that are busy nest building
I looked like this before and after the moult ๐ซข
Crows love that sort of thing
A crow standing in the yellow and purple shrubs of one of the flower beds at the lake in Zurich. The shrubs need replacing now. They've lost their colour a bit
The garden needs a tidy up. Everything is looking tired.
I'll let the gardener know. I'm just the photographer.

A crow on bridge standing in front of the camera with its head turned to the side. Behind the crow are trees and something red reflected in the water
What a crazy background reflecting on the water. I almost forgot I was supposed to be photographing the crow

Hands over 500g bag of peanuts
That's true. I'm very busy right now having to decide between food and nesting material
What is it eating? It looks like a chestnut or sculpted boiled egg ๐
I've never seen a jackdaw fledging. In the early summer, I'll get a chance to see baby rooks and crazily enough, they look just like crows
Beautiful shot.
What a cutie. Love jackdaws. Unlike crows, jackdaws in Zurich are protected as their numbers are in decline
It's amazing to watch a crow carry off a walnut. Here, unlike those video clips of urban crows in Japan, the crows just drop them from a height and swoop down to enjoy a nut that's broken almost perfectly in half
Love this Heather. A real beauty, soggy or not
A crow with a lot of its black chest feathers missing exposing the white downy feathers underneath. What is is strange is that the crow moulted last year and emerged looking exactly the same
Those bastards have nicknamed me the burst pillow!

That's a great photo. Love it
Lovely shot Andrea
God they look bad-tempered
A crow working its way through a garden of yellow and purple shrubs. I have no idea what its thinking but it looks like its in a hurry
I'm late for work but I don't even have job!

A crow stood on a wall at the lake looking into the distance. Who knows what they are looking at
Little guy is wondering where everyone else is. Especially when there are peanuts!

Thank you ๐
A crow on a concrete post swishing its wings about in dramatic fashion. Have you ever seen a crow dance flamenco?
And with a swish of their wings, they were gone

A crow stood in a purple shrub looking as though it is winking at me. It's just the nictitating membrane covering one eye.
I'm not sure I like you winking at me

Thank you ๐
A crow standing on a concrete pillar with the river and bushes behind it. The crow is stood upright and has its heap pointing diagonally upwards. Its eyes are bright and shiny and a teeny bit bulgey
Do I look elegant?
No, just wierd!

A crow grabbing a peanuts while still on the move
The crow leaving as his attacker arrives
Nothing to see here folks. The crows have fled the scene and the peanut with it
Even in the middle of a fight, a crow can find the time to pick up a peanut.
Apologies for the shoddy photography

It's tough. Much of the lake is home to crows without territory - but it's easy to accidentally wander into a spot that has been claimed and then the fighting begins. And while all this mayhem is going on, they all quickly grab a peanut or two
