My retro hobby, which really started during lockdown, now gives me great satisfaction in other ways. I rescued a busted iPod from a charity shop, fixed it and chose the music to put on it instead of letting an algorithm feed me stuff I'll never own.
It was what I had and I made it work! I've somewhat over-compensated these days with options I never could afford then.
Getting a ZX81 when it was new and not having a tape deck. Typing in my very slow missile command game in basic every time I wanted to play it after powering it up.
Happy that I've already found those people over here after giving up on the 🐦 site!
