Ridiculously gorgeous + endlessly fascinating history + iconic race feature = a perfect climb

Do go up to the top and towards the Piazza del Campo and all that, but also visit the Santuario di Santa Caterina nearby. It is an absolute banger. The Chiesa del Crocifisso is among the top five churches I've seen back in November — and that says something 😅

Passing under the Porta di Fontebranda, you can already see the gorgeous Fontebranda fountain just up the road. Go past it, left-right, up you go love. Give it the beans.

Even though it's not my favourite Italian city I visited (probably Ferrara), it was obviously still quite special to visit Siena. Mainly because of the Via Santa Caterina, Strade Bianche's finishing kicker, a perfect climb.

That's what being a massive cycling nerd does to you, I guess.😅

After years of ✨pretty severe health problems✨ (still an understatement tbh), I was fortunate enough to spend three weeks in Italy last November.
