Maybe watch a few movies with Jazz in them. Mo better Blues is v good. Miracle on the Hudson has some good jazz. Thereβs a Clint Eastwood film where the music is done by his son Kyle. Or George Clooneys Good Night and a good Luck.
You are listening to the wrong kind of Jazz.
Iβm not sure thatβs true anymore. Heβs been the subject of many books, on a bank note and of course in a number of films.
If you want a real unsung hero Google Tommy Flowers.
Apparently producer/presenter Cathy Rogers got the idea for Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars when watching Apollo 13.
I wrote something about crisis the film and TV industry finds itself in. Please be kind. #television open.substack.com/pub/michaels...
After I had told them we were expecting our first kid, a good friend of mine said βwhat no one tells you is you will never laugh as muchβ, and he was right. Being woken up by at 5am tottering 3 yr old pretending to be a penguin is a great way to start the day. As is taking Spider-Man to nursery.
Whilst itβs right the DPs, designers etc all get the credit for Severance, the desk op and lighting team deserve a lot of credit.
I know Pinewood is almost completely booked out to Disney.. but how are Disney allowed to control security??
Itβs a combination of sources. We saw during the pandemic how disruptive sources like WhatsApp groups with dodgy messaging being spread very rapidly across chats. LK maybe gets 1m, QT around 800K. And yes Reform etc are very good at manipulating FB, X etc.
UKIP got into power as MEPs without any help from the BBC. Reforms rise also helpfully coincides with the decline in importance of traditional media and a rise of social media, especially platforms like X, Facebook and WhatsApp.
When did The Onion start reporting actual news? (I know itβs not but where we are itβs not that far fetched)
Dialogue is usually mono in the middle. Could be the L and R channels are phased reversed.
Blimey.. thatβs lovely!
How come in this digital world of streaming and everything being available everywhere, @warnerbrostv.bsky.social still havenβt made The Pitt available in the U.K.
What they mean is they didnβt build whole scenes in a computer. VFX could be practical effects or greenscreen, or wire removal.
@warnerbrostv.bsky.social when are we getting The Pitt in the U.K.??? Sounds amazing.
Donβt. Save yourself. I did and I regret it.
Arguably this is the 2nd biggest role.. after the DG.
He got to be an MEP with very little if any help from the BBCβ¦
Good job the Covid out break didnβt happen when the unions were in powerβ¦ a journalist an FM! ACTT would have had a fit.
Itβs not just drama though, factual TV is just as important and needs help as well. Itβs a vital training ground for production and tech crew alike.
So has it just got 10% more expensive for US producers to shoot in the U.K.? #filmproduction #tvproduction
Check out the photography of Helen Binet.
Actually the 6x2 looks bonkers! Would buy one of them if I had some that work stuff π€£π€£
The last episode of the Rest Is Entertainment raised the very interesting counterpoint that viewing figures on YouTube are not necessarily accurate. Over the past couple of years Iβve worked with quite a lot of influences and all they are interested in doing is getting on broadcast TV.
Let me guess - lower than the rate!
Thereβs only 10 types of people - those that understand binary and those that donβt.
Iβd love to hear what Rory Stewart thinks.
Did you do the lottery that day?
