Id recommend to go the vrc traders discord server! You'll be able to see the portfolio of many vetted artists and their prices!

um why did he say "look1ng", instead of "looking"
How do you make such a typo unintentionally????
Yeah, that could be a reason. I know there's people on bluesky who balance game dev and commissions so it's not impossible. But for smaller accounts, its seems hard either way, especially as I'm seeing when I try to talk about other/random topics.
Also I really like your work/game btw!
Also if my commissions dont work out, ill probably go back to game development on the side. This is mainly another interest and a way for me to support myself. I don't plan on giving up though and I value everyone who reads my posts! I appreciate it
My dms are always open to connect with other artists, or if people want to talk about game development or character modeling, or potential commissions. I'm just experimenting with what people want (or not), and its not going to be perfect. I'm still new to social media.
I'm not really sure what to do. I started posting about commissions instead of indie game dev and my engagement just dropped instantly to basically 0. Part of me opening commissions is to get funding for my game development, but it seems like its going to be really hard to even do that.
I just opened commissions on VGEN! If anybody wants custom VRChat avatars (or 3D Vtubing avatars) (or knows someone who does) I am happy to start taking commission work! DMs are also open! #VGenOpen #VGen

Just wanted to say that this looks really well made! You have great work too!
And my vgen is still being set up for commissions but it is here!

This Christmas I was fortunate enough to receive a VGen code from @VivisDreamverse (on Twitter)! I wish to thank them here as well for the present, it meant a lot!
Being apart of VGen is going to help me with my freelancing and it's a platform I agree with value wise, so it's exciting!
I'm going to document my process here for my artwork submission for VGen's Monthly challenge. Since it is themed for family, and I watched a lot of one piece, I want to recreate one of these scenes (with proper credit to One Piece Franchise)
(Will probably start tomorrow)
With that said, I understand if there isn't someone who has a spare code to give to me specifically. So, I'm going to be dedicating my time to make artpieces for the vgen monthly contests until I get in. This is something I genuinely want to do, and I hope the message gets through.
Hi, I began here by showing off my game development but I also make characters and want to start freelancing! Here are some of my portfolio pieces. I really wish to get into vgen, but because i am new to social media, I'm not sure who to ask, but I would genuinely appreciate a code.

Haven't shown it (on vrc), but this is my game avatar I changed for vr chat for fun. I recently got the tail to collide on the ground today which is cool
And its pretty compatible with VseeFace and Warudo. Though its a different setup ofc.

Ty!
I've been looking into setting up a vtubing character for testing purposes and potential videos/streams, i think it's turning out pretty cool.
A lot of this comes from Warudo, it has a really indepth scene setup.
Also am looking to open commissions as well soonish

$125 per frame π
Maybe trying to use those other platforms more for character art i make would fare better, since I dont really have active accounts there anyways. Im not sure what really works though. Not like I have anything to lose (except my time lmao)
I haven't tested enough but it feels like indie game posts do way better on bluesky than just freelance art (for new people at least).
Outside of discord, I also am aware of other platforms like twitter/X, reddit, tiktok, instagram.
I've been wondering if its a good idea to start a new account focused on 3d character art, in order to eventually open commissions. Or basically try to combine my indie game dev posts with freelance art. It's hard to know where to start tbh. Maybe posting a demo reel and pinning it?
Slowly getting back into game dev (I'm busy with other projects and college, and trying to eventually freelance, it's a lot lol)
But, here's a test for a projectile system. I'm going to branch off of it with ranged enemies that follow you

Ended up not becoming one of the 10 ten entries for vrc spookality avatar jam.
At least I have more experience making vrc avatars ππ(and can move on, because its a smaller project)
Anyways its a public avatar so if you wanna use it i can link to it

I personally use artstation and organize my stuff into albums. There may be other options as well, but for visual stuff like modelling/textures/vfx it works pretty well and people also have a demo reel as their first post for people to skim through
This past month, I've basically been looking into vr chat and I made an avatar for the spookality jam.
I'm playing this on a pc to easily record, but later I can show how it looks in pcvr since i also have that setup.
But yeah, if you've been wondering, that's what i've been doing lol

(Also I think i had my microphone on, with my computer fan being really loud so I apologize for the audio cracking lol)
Small update this week in terms of new features. (I'm exploring other areas of interest with my free time)
Basically though whenever you get close to a checkpoint, a star will appear, so you should not miss it (I sure hope so anyways)

I was thinking of ways to have melee combat that doesn't break the characters speed, and I believe I found something I liked. So you can basically just button mash and move wherever as you attack most things.

I'm implementing a swinging mechanic for my platformer, took a while to set up properly but its worth it to me. You're able to control how much you swing and then you flip forwards when you jump out

Here's a turnaround of one of the NPC's/Enemies I made for my 3D Platformer game.
I also believe I found a simple but effective rendering method I will continue to use.

And the overall stylized cartoony look with the fox motifs fits well with the fox character shown alongside it for the capsule art. I personally donβt really have much to criticize with the recent one because I feel it fits really well with the games branding and itβs readable
