... you've also stolen the work of a lot of independent artists. And yeah, the streaming royalties thing is a mess, but that's more the fault of the 3 major labels than Spotify. And so those indie artists don't make much off streaming, but if you ask them I bet they'd say it's better than nothing.
Just speak plainly about this. You are stealing the IP of labels and artists (not Spotify) in order to make it "free". And understand and explain how the only parties that can be harmed by this are labels and artists. Nobody will cry if the 3 major labels lose royalties over this. But ...
This will not have any significant material impact on Spotify. The 3 major labels will be upset with Spotify and require them to expend some effort plugging up whatever mechanisms were exploited that made this possible. That will be it.
I just want to say a hearty "F U" to Anna's Archives. They are either stupid or acting in bad faith or both. Claiming what they have done is an action "against Spotify" is patently ridiculous. Spotify is not the owner of the IP they have stolen. It belongs to the labels and artists. 1/x
