It would be awesome if money fell out every time I crashed a game engine. I would be so rich! I mean, that's basically my primary skill. #gamedev #indiedev #programming

Experimenting with VGA renders of Toward The Ice scenes just for fun. #gamedev #rpg #vga
I posted a video about some of the vintage gamedev books that can be found on The Internet Archive. Thanks to @alienmax.bsky.social for mentioning it as a place that had interesting treasures a while back. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDE9... #gamedev #books #gamedevbooks
I posted a video detailing how Steam Next Fest went for Toward The Ice with a comparison to the one for Navigating The Labyrinth this time last year. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJcb... #gamedev #nextfest #steam
I posted a video about how to create a developer or publisher page on Steam and why you would want to. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_bI... #gamedev #steam #indiedev
That is one serious leveling up. An overnight success decades in the making. :D
Nice, congratulations! Curious - what was your previous high for a game?
I'm thrilled to see that new people are discovering and playing Toward The Ice this week in #SteamNextFest store.steampowered.com/app/2878110/... #gaming #solodev
I'm certain they want another creator-goldrush money press platform like Roblox or Fortnite. My guess is either moving Minecraft in that direction or coming up with (or more likely buying) another infinite money glitch game-as-a-platform.
Steam Next Fest is Live! I am streaming the game on Steam right now :) I am also terrible at it.

I just posted a video about explorers vs fanatics in game development - a comparison of exploring genres vs focusing on one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNH-... #gamedev #indiedev #gamegenre
I released an update to Into The Inferno with the same changes and new features that were just added to Navigating The Labyrinth. store.steampowered.com/news/app/246... #rpg #dungeoncrawler #gaming
Working for other people is an exhaustion-by-frustration thing. OK, I got all my work done in 20 hours and there's nothing more to do, but those other 20 hours I have to be there and look busy but can't actually do anything useful with the time. Pays the same but I can my life slipping away. Ick.
Some days I work 12 hours. Others 6. Energy ebbs and flows. If you follow it, and give space for rest, there won't be burnout. That's my experience. I put in about 60 hours a week, but I'm a solo dev and having that much time without distraction is a gift, something I've rarely had, happy to use it.

This inspired me to check whether Redshirts was available in Spanish in Uruguay... it's a bit pricey (as are all books here), but it's available. I first read it in English, but now I have to re-read it in Spanish. :D
I released an update to Navigating The Labyrinth that brings in a portrait browser, bug fixes, and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements. store.steampowered.com/news/app/264... #rpg #drpg #pcgaming
Absolutely.
Platform risk makes me so tired. Always the same - something becomes super useful until enough people depend on it, then the hammer comes down and the cycle begins again somewhere else.

I posted a video about the post-game-launch blues, which was a surprising thing that hit me when I released a game I had been working on for a while. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1eN... #gamedev #indiedev #launchday

One of the things I would do if I had infinite money is buy LinkedIn and turn it off. That platform is actively making the world worse. #linkedin #onecandream
I posted a video about why small games are not the answer for indie developers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJOm... #gamedev #indiedev #smallgames
I'm working on a portrait browser for Toward The Ice because there are far too many portraits to cycle through just using the arrows. #gamedev #rpg #partybasedrpg
The world needs more punk EVERYTHING right now.
