I find it puzzling how the blue sky moderation and higher ups completely, and oddly refused to embrace the crowd they had. Clearly their goals weren’t being met, so they just kept trying to…what… hope that if they were mean enough, it would attract the investors?

I was making a case the other day that Rings of Power (the LOTR TV show) got hated on so much not only because it was flawed or because it had (gasp) women and PoC in it, but also because people can't enjoy a "hopeful" or "happy" fantasy show. everyone wanted dark and gritty, GOT-style material.
