Alexei Gorinov, a former Russian deputy, was sentenced to seven years for opposing the war in Ukraine, later receiving an extended term. His loyal dog passed away from longing, still hoping for his return.
This piece features a 3D model of his dog - like a spirit, waiting by his prison cell.

In prison, the 63-year-old man endured inhumane conditions, including tortureβkept in a freezing cell with no heat and deprived of sleep, being woken every two hours. In November 2024, Gorinov was handed an additional three-year sentence for conversations with his cellmates.

Itβs fun to think that this watery character keeps living on - traveling to new places and taking its fish along for the ride.

Hereβs the second piece of the AquaPunk AR effect: the Fish!
I created and used one 3D model, tweaking materials, animation speed, and positions to make each fish unique. This kept the effect optimized for mobile AR.

Hereβs the first piece of the AquaPunk AR effect: the Crown!
It has two golden parts: the top rests on the head, while the lower moves with the jaw when you talk. Its design highlights facial contours, essential for the water-like appearance.

Here it is β the final render! Now every piece has its own identity: glass that reflects and refracts light, plastic thatβs sometimes opaque, sometimes translucent, glowing indicators, and metal that catches the light just right.
