I highly recommend the @nortoncriticals.bsky.social version of Leaves of Grass as it has both the 1855 original (which we are reading) AND the later, much larger 1893 edition plus supplementary essays.
It also has line numbers which will make referencing certain lines much easier.

Screen shot of the Third Edition of the Norton Critical Edition of Moby Dick
This is a very cool edition of Moby Dick. It footnotes a LOT of the more obscure words and phrases and includes several reviews, biographical sketches and papers that discuss the themes and such.

Frankenstein Third Norton Critical Edition Novel by Mary Shelley and edited by J. Paul Hunter
Reading some of the changes between the 1818 and 1831 versions side by side on the same pages instead of separate books helped me see and understand the differences so much better. I love the penguin classics of the 1818 text but I think this one is my fav edition now!
Time for a re-read
A well-worn copy of a Norton Critical Edition of Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes. It's the Ornsby translation and it has a black and white cover.
Finished reading this on the train ride home and definitely teared up at the end. I don't have anything to say about it that hasn't already been said a million times by people much smarter than me, but what a marvelous and endlessly entertaining work of fiction!
Apropos of nothing, let me celebrate Anna More's fantastic Norton Critical Edition of Sor Juana's Selected Works. Terrific edition and a great selection of the recent scholarship on a complex figure. wwnorton.com/books/978039...
