7 March 1942 | A French Jewish girl, Claudine Ruben, was born in Paris.
She arrived at #Auschwitz on 20 July 1943 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from Drancy. She was among the 440 people murdered after selection in a gas chamber.
Except one was from cowardice and one was from a strong moral sense that it was not a just war. I’ll leave you to work out which is which

7 March 2008 | Leon Greenman, a British Jew, died in London. He moved to Rotterdam with his wife Esther in 1935. They had one son, Barnett.
In Jan 1943 they were deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz. Esther & Barnett were murdered. Leon was given the number 98288. He survived.
