A very photogenic bright green shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Plastic cup with McCafe and arch logo
Today is the day for my annual Big Mac + Shamrock Shake.
Today will also be the day that I complain it's not good, smaller than I remember, and surprisingly expensive.
It is important to uphold traditions.
Spring in Chicago is never boring. Tornadoes and 5 inch hail last night and now it looks like feathers are falling out of the sky. #chicagospringtime
Your reminder that Ludditesβthe actual people in the early 1800s, not modern, incoherent, quarrelsome online anprims (iykyk)βwere not inherently anti-technology, but specifically against new technologies that were deployed to take away their standard of living, actually decent for their era
you can tell Wired has been doing good journalism lately because there's been increased whining by the extraction class about how Wired mysteriously changed in the decade since tech titans fully revealed themselves as sociopaths
from this recent Dorsey interview:
This will be a cheerful thing to do at the end of winter
I just did!
A person wearing a coat walks through snow towards a large, old building. The image promotes Kanopy's collection of Academy Awards winners and nominees, featuring the film "Ida" (2013), directed by Pawel Pawlikowski.
Excited for the Academy Awards this weekend? Same. Watch our collection via the link in our bio.
The boys have had such a hard day I think Chonk may actually becoming part sofa
I zoomed in to see if it had any of the dreaded seed
In 24 hours it has been warm, sunny, cool, windy, stormy, hail, tornado, cold, and maybe some snow today. I have worn 4 different types of coat.
Unlike most anthropomorphized foods, these fromages do not appear to be pleased about being imminently consumed
Yes! We have to start making this unacceptable behavior in public
And these are not customers! These are people doing their jobs, and probably getting tracked every minute of their workday
I might have to ask 100 people to get 10. In my office I deal with a wildly varying number of customers per day, sometimes only a few, and most of them are pre-existing customers I've already asked. My boss told me I should be asking the FedEx guy, anyone delivering food, the elevator inspector...
It reply is!
Every job has unpleasant elements, but it is stupid how much anxiety my co. creates by nagging us about them, tracking them, making us explain to the DVP if we are behind on the quota, making us write up a multi-step plan for meeting quota by the end of month. Taking time away from our actual work.
The people that are nasty to me for just asking don't bother me as much as the people that say they will and fake doing it right in front of me. Happens a lot! The last time I was told "You were very helpful but I don't do those" my response was " I respect that". No need to lie.
Somebody's going to tell me to GET ANOTHER JOB IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.
AI Isnβt Lightening Workloads. Itβs Making Them More Intense.:
"Itβs not that AI doesnβt create efficiency. Itβs that the capacity it frees up immediately gets repurposed into doing other work, and thatβs where the creep is likely to happen."

America's status as the top destination for global talent is being shattered.
The Administration only just published (!) what happened last summer to international student visa issuances. It's grim.

As an employee that is required to get a specific number of Google reviews every month, please know that we dont WANT to bother you, we are made to.
My company requires me to get a certain # of Google reviews every month so I am sympathetic to other people that have to grub for reviews or survey responses.
I am inclined to believe it because it is so ridiculous.
But there is one detail I don't believe:
"According to the White House, he pays for the shoes personally."
I don't pay much attention to the Olympics, but I do follow the Paralympics. It is so interesting to see the adaptations and techniques that these athletes use
In light of recent changes to U.S. Postal Service postmark policy, election officials have recommended voters mail their vote-by-mail ballot at least a week before Election Day or use drop-off boxes at voting sites to ensure their ballot is counted.
I will be happy when I open my mailbox and it is not crammed with oversized candidate mailers. I got 14 yesterday! I have relocated the paper recycling bin to just inside the front door until after election day.
But I am about to go vote.
