can i do a small rant? i hate sites like steamcharts or any kind of "player count" charts cause they are always used incorrectly. (this is partially about marathon but we'll get to it)
Now, what does steam charts do you may ask? Show you the live player count. sounds innocent enough right? (1/?)
Unfortunately, some players look at the number of players and think, “If the game is really popular, it must be good,” or vice versa

The exact same game can succeed or fail based on whether the people jumping in are getting the game they expected
A lot of the wrong players -- players that won't like it -- jumping in to play is really gonna color perception of that game.
Many people forget this aspect, even with AAA games.
