“Age-play”? You mean porn performers dressed like kids? That is the “unsavoury” element - why would anyone want to emulate sex with children? Stopping people watching this protects kids by stopping the idea that sex with kids is somehow okay. It’s just grim.

‘Barely legal’ online pornography sites enable exploitation
Material that would face serious legal and regulatory barriers offline remains widely accessible online
Barely legal porn is “a fig leaf for the sexualisation of minors”.
Great piece here by Baroness Gabby Bertin who is tabling amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill this week which echo those I tabled earlier in its journey.

We want better, earlier support for our children — when they need it, where they need it.
And we’re investing to make that happen.

This is a massive shift which would upend the lives of millions - not just the nearly half million directly threatened but their families. It would abandon a basic principle of law that changes are not retrospectively applied.

Labour believes every child must have the chance to achieve and thrive.
We are determined to break the link between background and success.
That’s why we’re investing in better, earlier support for our children at school and reforming the SEND system for good.

The change we’re bringing for children with SEND is to get them better, earlier support — where they need it and when they need it.

Police arresting 1,000 paedophile suspects a month across UK
National Crime Agency says rise in child sexual abuse being driven by technology and online forums
Action to better regulate social media is urgently needed.
As this article says “contact with children happened on mainstream social media platforms, with algorithms pushing paedophilic material to people who have shown a previous interest in it.”

I wrote with MPs to Ofcom and the ICO on Monday. Nothing has been done. The hate and abuse of this girl and her mother continues on this disgusting website, even after her death. The owner must be held accountable.

Influencer's daughter kills herself after being trolled on Tattle life
The 16-year-old daughter of an influencer has taken her own life after she became the target of vicious trolls on controversial gossip website Tattle Life.
Why hasn’t Ofcom taken this down? They met with victims of Tattle Life in September and were warned then about the horrendous illegal content on this website in front of MPs. I was there. Now a young girl has taken her own life.

This is a make or break moment and the public will not forgive us if we make the wrong choice and turn in on ourselves.
Instead, we need to continue our focus on turning around 14 years of chaos and austerity.

As the Association of Forensic Science Providers says, ‘the pitfalls of these self-swabbing kits far outweigh any benefits … we would not recommend [them] as a method to recover forensic evidence in cases of sexual assault and rape.’

I am extremely concerned by the proliferation of dangerous ‘rape kits’.

Churchwarden linked to foreign-born billionaire is behind £200k Reform gift
The man whose firm made the donations will not discuss where the money came from, nor his ties to wealthy Farage allies who may not hold citizenship
How is it that a church warden behind an interior design firm originally incorporated in the BVIs & tied to a Kazakh billionaire can make a £200,000 donation to Reform UK?
Source of funds not disclosed.
Farage has questions to answer.
The Electoral Commission must investigate.

These are huge unanswered questions that the Bill’s supporters refuse to engage with and if you force it through with the Parliament Act it means none of the known dangers get fixed.
If we mess this up and force this through in this deeply flawed state we will be held responsible.

They’re also asking whether people with manageable or treatable conditions who refuse treatment, or people with dementia, could be eligible for an assisted death.
These issues just weren’t properly considered in the House of Commons.
