Leesha is an incredible cover artist! I adore both of the beautiful covers she created for me (Snowspelled & Thornbound), and she's also such a joy to work with - really thoughtful and responsive.

I like a lot that the seemingly standard measurement of prehistoric fauna is 'how many school buses is it'
So happy: THE MUSE (MUSAN) is being published next year all across the English-speaking world. Also, I start working on a new project on Monday that is.... unexpected, to say the least. @torbooksuk.bsky.social @bookbrunch.bsky.social

Cropped art by Jimmy Makepeace of the Mongol nomad Goatskin standing at combat ready, a friend at her back, as the disembodied head of a statue spews violet light from its eyes. Overlaid are captions. Along the top reads "Just Launched on Backerkit. New Edge Sword & Sorcery 2026 is live" Along the bottom reads "Share this post to unlock bonus stories".

“Hound of Annwn” by Rem Wigmore at @plotthoundmag.bsky.social
The second person works well to make a human reader feel like a human-made-into-a-hound I think.
This story does interesting things with service and duty. And also smells.

Art of a manga girl running, the background is plain red, and there is a caption nearly fitted in saying: Not to self diagnose But I think I'm fucking cooked

Also I'm aware I couuuld pretty up my author page some but a)nowhere else requires me to do that and b)I can't be bothered and c)I already had to make special files for almost every title bc nowhere else needs screenshots or files with covers attached and I cannoot be bovvered
Now I can finally be in sales ...! (I've been working on this for - a full year. I mean who knooows why I stopped the first time ...)
I have a 'Kiwi As' bundle with The Wind City and Riverwitch! There will be a Vengeful Wild bundle ... fairly soon hopefully 😉🐺
Do I think my labour is worth more, I mean abstractly yes, will people pay more, who knows. But this is the best of both worlds, kinda.
I'm aware of the platform's problems; it still does have the highest royalty rate of any platform I'm on, so, that's nice.
I'm still getting used to the Itch ecosystem ... prices tend to be higher than I'm used to indies charging elsewhere. I can't do that unless I raise prices elsewhere.
But it's a good option for shorter works like novelettes, and the option of people paying more for things if they choose is there!
All of my books are now available on itch.io! Behold!

Thank you, and thank you for recommending it!
Catching up on some short SFF fiction.
Thank you so much!
Metaphor is only half the fun in this "unconventional flood" story from @remedy.bsky.social. There is also a strange and pervasive calm, a narrative voice that I found reassuring amid so much change.
My very Wellington flood story is out! 🐡 (you'll see)
