The worst part about being really busy with the work that I've been doing is that I can't share any of it. T_T

Finally got the face right 😮‍💨 Had to finally break down and invest in tiny brushes. My sad shaky hands did their best. It’s soooo close!

Actually, I went through a similar cycle before I got this laptop. Basically, the battery was for sure gonna explode, and also my iphone had water damage and only worked on one side.

So I feel you.

All that to say.... I need to find a way to earn a new computer.

I hate how fast technology loses steam these days. I feel like I just got my laptop, but already I am greatly in need of a new computer. I think this time I'm gonna go with a desktop for the first time in a while. Probably a used Mac Studio. Does anybody have one? Do they like it? Need opinions.

I also really hated the “genetically engineered anti intimacy virus”. It’s such a contrive way to build a relationship drama. I would have much rather referred they just be together. I feel like there’s enough challenges for them to have gone through without such a goofy concept.

The first season is so good! I just rewatched it recently. The second season… is very disappointing. lol

Like imagine all the money they put into these live action slop films. That kind of budget for an animation would be insane.

It would also avoid all direct comparison to the original. Which would I think make it more likely to be successful. It seems like the perfect property to be reborn in a new way.

Well… I think the writing can be a bit cheesy at time. Especially the way the goons are written. It feels very of its time in a way that took me out of the experience.

To be fair to the new one, I haven’t actually seen it. I need to try and watch it so I can have an honest opinion of it.

I mean that’s totally fair. I forget how old it actually is. I was pretty little when it came out, but I liked it back then. Overall I do think it’s brilliant in concept. It’s just the script that is weak to me. I love love LOVE the miniatures and the photography direction.

Thank you! For what it’s worth there is plenty of sincere anime. Check out any film by Satoshi Kon. Especially something like Tokyo Godfathers or Perfect Blue. Not all anime is horse girls, haha.

I try to look at it as a style rather than a genre.

I didn’t mean any disrespect. I appreciate the gravity of this film’s existence. I just really dislike how the villain goons are written. Very dated. Especially black characters. But the overall performance and cinematography is fantastic.

Especially since there’s a comic book. I’d love to see @sciencesaru.bsky.social take a stab at it.
