excuse me, why are Democrats voting for this nonsense?

This time, it comes from Jesse Singal.
I fact check it in my latest piece.

the reason this discourse will never end is because it is completely untethered from any kind of evidentiary standard. as long as there is a 19-year-old barista somewhere saying βcultural appropriation,β guys like nichols will complain that βdemocratsβ use alienating language.
I actually agree that Democrats should refrain from using most of these. And they already do! When was the last time a Senator said 'heteronormative'?
The bigger problem is that orgs like Third Way are reinforcing this false, right-wing narrative. Dems can't stop doing something they're not doing!
Lindsey Cormack undertook a study to see if any actual data backs up that Third Way memo that got sharted onto the internet last week and you've never believe it but Third Way is operating on vibes more than facts

In a waiting room, and this lady chatting w/ the receiptionist is doing a great job explaining the actual impact of the DOGE cuts: *everyone* at her office laid off, what kinds of programs they do & who they help (kids), what's happening w the injunction. These personal stories need more attention!

Trump and Musk agree on the fundamentals:
*Both see the US state as something to capture for megalomaniacal self-dealing
*Both agree the US state should abandon the global poor to face unimaginable suffering
*Both want the state to dramatically roll back help for working people and the poor
We keep hearing the Trump-Musk saga reveals the split between tech oligarchs and MAGA. But they're largely in sync on crucial matters involving egalitarianism and the state. Trump/Musk mainly differ over how badly to screw the poor.

if your grand approach to politics is bloodless poll-testing so that you're always aligned with wherever public opinion happens to be, you've already lost
Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first. One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish. Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my schoolβs standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didnβt diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I donβt feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points. We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Sorenβs participation in the girlsβ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are. Anelise Feldman Freshman, Yarmouth High School Yarmouth
