(I'll admit that was kinda blunt. I've kinda been shouting this from the rooftops for years now, but yeah not having to deal with ads is pretty great.)
I pay for YouTube not because I actually think it's worth it, but because YouTube as a free service has been unsustainable for most of its existence and everything happening to it right now was inevitable.
There is never going to be a viable competitor and YouTube is never getting broken up.
Just to clear things up. This cover artwork was definitely not created by AI, but by the incredibly talented Pete Hentze, a long time Rare artist, and one of the concept artists on Conker: Live and Reloaded! π
This looks good, but I'm afraid to tell people I'd unironically go see this.
Well-adjusted people don't like being reminded how much of being alive post-2020 involves exposure to neverending systemic-level grifts, so to go watch a doc about it in theaters rightfully seems genuinely insane.

Nintendo's unique brand of corporate speak no matter what game they're talking about is so beyond self-parody that the phrase "You can drive virtually everywhere in this fully-interconnected world" has been burned into my brain ever since Mario Kart World was announced.
Nintendo Direct voice:
"In Super Mario 64, the evil Bowser has trapped Princess Toadstool in her castle using the power of the Stars!
As Mario, you can run- jump- stomp- dive- and even fly with full 360-degree movement using the Nintendo 64's all-new Control Stick!

Let me tell you something. Yβall are asking too many damn questions at every point of sale. I have to leave a comment, make a suggestion, donate to a charity, choose a method of payment three times and then multiple choice of ways to get a receipt.
Take the damn money and leave me alone.

A woman named Helen and a man named Bobby sit next to each other on plastic chairs at an office party. To Helen's right is an empty chair. To Bobby's left is a plastic table with a long dish of casserole. Above the table is a motivational poster that is obscured out of view. Helen is holding a plate in her left hand with two pieces of chicken cutlet, peas and mashed potatoes. She has a fork in the potatoes with her right hand. Bobby is slouching in his chair, looking up at the ceiling. She turns to him and asks: "You don't usually go to these parties, do you?" He responds: "Not voluntarily."
Scene focuses on just Bobby who continues: "My supervisor is on a team-building kick. Said he wanted to revisit his days of job-hopping startups and networking. So he made us all go."
Scene cuts to Helen who responds: "I don't have to be here. I was already working late and heard there was food."
Scene focuses on the both of them. Bobby sits up with one hand on his right leg, turns to her and asks: "You weren't invited?" She closes her eyes and shakes her head no.

This is just Glitch.
I love their work, but if they were a games studio, they'd be AA and it would be a bit weird at this point seeing them in an Indie World showcase
They are effectively a business given the scale they operate at, and isn't the bar that should be set for solo Newgrounds animators
This is just like that ragebait post that made the rounds at Christmas saying "why aren't the holidays magical anymore?"
Except there are real people who think like this, so here's your real answer: the holidays didn't change, but now it's your turn to make them magical and you aren't doing it.

Scene zooms out to show both of them standing. She holds her plate in her right hand and asks him: "Is your taste better than stale catering?" He puts his hands in his pockets, chuckles and responds: "Heh- I hope so..."
Scene shows them walking towards the other side of the office near the area beneath the "EXIT" sign. Helen is now wearing her long winter coat, gloves, scarf and hat, holding her plate over the garbage pail. Bobby is wearing a flat cap and gloves, and is pulling up on the right side of his winter jacket.
Scene zooms out to show them closer to the exit. Helen's plate sits on top of the garbage in the pail. She is holding her bag. He has his hands in his jacket pockets, and says: "...I just remembered I need to warm up my car first." Off to the left side, a woman with curly hair, glasses and a name tag on a lanyard around her neck looks in their direction with a curious expression.
Scene cuts to just the woman who is holding a plate of salad. Looking equally confused and suspicious, she says to herself: "Huh."

Scene cuts to behind the both of them. They overlook a wide office area, where people converse in the background near another table while others walk by. Next to the table is a full garbage pail, with an empty crushed soda can on the floor next to it. Behind everything are darkened areas, one of which has an "EXIT" sign above it. Helen says to him: "I've been here for ten years and I don't even know most of my co-workers. And the ones I do, I don't really get along with. It's... just me."
Scene cuts back to the both of them. Helen looks off to the side, dejected, and says: "I'm sorry, that was a bit much." Bobby has a startled, concerned expression.
She looks down at her dish and fiddles with her food. He leans forward and looks off to the side away from her. Neither say anything.
He turns to her and asks: "D-do you... wanna get a real dinner? It's okay if not, I don't wanna be too forward." She looks up, surprised.

Going from the pixel art "Happy Mac" to the Aqua UI back to the Platinum UI whenever you started a Classic app was always a trip.
Me, right now. And itβs not even an action scene.
Many programmers don't have the same emotional attachment to code that artists have to art because code is largely means to an end. Destination versus the journey.
So long as they personally aren't losing money/time, many don't mind having their code used for most purposes.

I'm half crazy, all for the love of you... Digital Circus Episode 8 drops March 20th
perhaps this website attracts 38 year olds because its no problem for us to post on a forum where all the mods are huge pieces of shit that everybody hates
Absolutely devastated to have to deliver this news.
I have loved working at BuzzFeed so much but I have to stand up for what I believe in.
Please DO NOT send hate to anyone!
If anything changes regarding this, I will let you know.
Showtime.

Professional developers who rely on AI coding tools blatantly ignore a major rule about programming: *every* line of code is a liability
One wrong magic number, misspelled variable, wrong function call, and you could break everything to the tune of millions of dollars... just so you can "ship fast"
