Born during a power cut in 1972, I have always preferred the dark. Not really but it sounds cool.

Well, soon...
It's time for Paul, Olllie and Stuart to hop the logs and dodge the traffic to get home safe... They're playing FROGGER!
The board game version, obviously!

A poem written in black marker on a wall.

In order forme
to write poetry
that isn't political
I must listen to
the birds
And in order
to hear the
birds not
The Warplanes must
Be Silent.

The British public refuse to accept that it's cheaper to provide welfare than withdraw it. Fewer benefits result in increased crime and poorer public health, requiring increased resources for the police and NHS. Prevention is cheaper than the cure, it's that fucking simple.

one thing I like saying to my cats in admonishment is "you know the rules" when they very clearly do not know and will never know the rules

one thing I like saying to my cats in admonishment is "you know the rules" when they very clearly do not know and will never know the rules

New sentence I have just spoken aloud to a cat: "Act like you've been here before."

It really is. I was pleasantly surprised when he was chosen as the entry. Then I worried that his sound would be massaged to make it the usual pish.
It has not been. It's as catchy and chaotic as I could have hoped.

My ICQ UIN is 7231680. That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you.

Apparently "the nudie dancer" from Roald Dahl's Tales of the unexpected is not an appropriate character for World Book Day.

Quote from Cursed in the Lost City. Quote reads: The dragon had to be eighty feet from pointed snout to twisted tail, at least. Every scale was as big as Lazare’s hand, and all glittered a vivid blood red. Redthroat the Invincible, and yes, that title didn’t seem like false flattery to Lazare, on looking at her. The army of the English invasion may have outnumbered their Welsh counterparts two to one all those years ago, but it only took one glance at Redthroat’s colossal frame to imagine her bearing down on soldiers in battle, wings blotting out the sky in a veil of blood, every edge of her dagger-sharp. Lazare didn’t want to imagine the volume or range of her flame breath, but it could likely wipe out entire battalions in a single exhale.
Redthroat lifted her enormous head and, catlike again, gave a wide yawn. A hundred dragon fangs, each the size of a human child, glistened at them in the gold-light.
β€˜Speak,’ she rumbled, in a voice like a distant thunderstorm.

This St David's Day, why not read a book where the dragon off the Welsh flag is a real Dragon Queen who lives in the Lost City of Llanelli? (It's the 2nd book in the series, buying links here! farragobooks.com/book-series/... )
