I love Ravelry for this reason! I made a hat that was translated poorly, so it was very confusing. User notes to the rescue! I added some of my own too, when I realized the decreases change the stitch pattern awkwardly and looked bad. I put a pompom on to hide it!
Knitting got me back into hand dyeing! I used to tie dye, and loved it, but I moved and gave away my supplies. After years of disappointment trying to find hand dyed plant-fiber yarn to knit with, I started dyeing my own! Now I have a small business selling my yarn.
I have a dust mite allergy so I hear that! Do you have air purifiers? They seem to do a decent job of keeping indoor air cleaner. I'd def ask about allergy meds and cough suppressant! Hope you feel better soon!
Did they say what you might be allergic to? If it's cold where you are, there shouldn't be many outdoor allergies floating around! Allergy meds should help, or it might be something else. I (probably) had whooping cough for months! It was awful. Cough suppressants are awesome if it's keeping you up
