A reddit post in r/mildlyinteresting titled: "I add a layer of paint to this quarter whenever Iβm in a meeting". The associated picture shows a rounded conical glob of blueish white paint on top of a yellow kraft paper square, with a paint-riter+ pen behind it, on a desk.
A comment by the author of the post named "nominyomom": Some information: - The coin has been in progress since February 2025. - Daily standup is the biggest contributor. - Engineering at Big Tech is 90% figuring out what everyone is doing. - Iβve emptied 2.75 Markal Paint-Ritter+ pens. - I also add colors with Expo and Sharpies but those donβt add much thickness. - The paint blob never fully dries, it takes fingerprints very well and sags due to gravity and surface tension - If it ever gets misshapen, I add a bunch of the paint, it softens up and surface tension pulls it back into symmetry. - The quarter is a State Quarter, but I have forgotten which state. - if the meeting is especially useless, I lift it to my nose and take nice big whiffs.
finally some normal fucking people on reddit
Oh yeah absolutely. I think this one's always been my favorite: youtu.be/ser5eJUlo7s?...

I've spent a lot of time listening to video game osts, even using video game osts for videos, and I don't think I'll ever find anything that beats this:
It is so. unbelivably. gas. Like, so gas.

I feel real bad for everyone who's been struggling to care for a delusional family member, watching whatever progress they've made get annihilated by ChatGPT in an afternoon.

I wish that guy the best. Sometimes we all go too far, and I think it's so incredibly important to leave room for an apology in those moments.
Idk why, but that gave me like such a random burst of hope for humanity just now. I have never minded criticism, but there's nothing that I hate more about the internet than how easy it is to be dehumanizing as fuck. But that interaction felt very much like how a real-life scenario would go down.
He left some pretty in-depth criticism on my last video, and then ended the comment with some pretty rude insults towards me.
And I was like: "Why the insults, man?"
And he was like: "Yeah that probably went too far."
I think I just had the best online interaction I've ever had in my life with a mean commenter:
That sounds like a fucking fascinating book. Might have to add it onto the list.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to make it seem like I'm complaining about the last video. There's a whole half of that comment section that has been super endearing with their feedback, which I really appreciate. I just more so wanna understand why we, as fans of that stuff, tend to talk that way.
Like why are people so scared to come up with their own words? I'm sure a lot of it just has to do with age/demographic stuff. But I've covered games, books, other types of media, and I never see those spaces get talked about like that.
I think I find myself getting a lil bit frustrated at the difference between what its like to make a video essay about a game vs talking about anything related to anime/manga. Like I'm just so sick of talking about manga, and half the comments are like:
"__ is peak"
"__ is S tier"
"__ is mid"
when you reply back to a mean comment and they immediately fold
