Though I have had the experience of being less critical of something than others anyway, with some of the negativity affecting me; RWBY and parts of Chibnall Doctor Who come to mind, I noticed flaws but wasn't as negative as others.

Maybe I should've written this stuff more properly and not just in a reply chain but whatever; some of my thoughts on my love of xc2 despite its flaws. Not nearly as in-depth as I could, maybe at some point I'll post more about it.

Point is, lots of really shitty things, in most ways the most flawed of the numbered xc games I'd say! But then the stories of Nia and Pyra and Mythra and Jin and... so many characters. They really just resonate with me and I love their stories so much.

It's also really confused on whether imperialism is bad or not. There's a scene where a positive mentor character randomly complains about protesting refugees?? It's slightly better on Tirkins and such than other installments but still bad. There is some weird gameplay dissonance about core themes.

I have a lot of that with my favourite videogame. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is like, really important to me personally and I love so much of it and a lot of characters relate a lot and it's great but. It has a lot of shit in it. I get why the blocklist I'm on for liking it is called "xc2 gooners" tbh.
