I reeeally like this song. Dream Of Mine by Ellur โค๏ธ

This is a lovely album (also featuring Stuart Murdoch, Gruff Rhys, David Brewis, Kathryn Joseph and others).
Wrote some words about the new Bonnie Prince Billy album.
Also out today and also very good!
Out today and very good!
(just to be clear, I stopped listening to the Today programme a long time ago, this morning was the first time I've listened in years)
And now I've just switched over to 6 Music and they're playing Sparky's Dream by Teenage Fanclub ๐ฅฐ
A rare occasion where I can enjoy listening to the Today programme.
I'm no longer able to make it to Meilyr Jones at SJQ on Monday so have put my ticket up for sale on Twickets. www.twickets.live/app/block/34...
Very much enjoyed talking to Sam Beam about the new Iron & Wine album which comes out on Friday.

Beautiful show by Ron Sexsmith and band in the suitably lovely surroundings of Cadogan Hall last night. Tracks from last year's Hangover Terrace sounded great and there was the unexpected bonus of getting certified power-pop banger Believe It When I See It and a sumptuous Gold In Them Hills.
I enjoyed it. Two sets of different improvisations. Classic Cafe Oto type show ๐
Well I Wonder.
Officially the best song by The Smiths just on 6 Music there...
Matana Roberts (saxophone), Neil Charles (double bass) and Mark Sanders (drums) at Cafe Oto tonight ๐ฅ
Sounding absolutely exquisite. Also, on a related note, I've just finished writing up my recent interview with Sam Beam and I'm quite happy with how it has ended up. Will be published next week ahead of the album being released.
The Royal College of Music Philharmonic playing Ravel's Piano Concerto & Brahms' 3rd Symphony. Superb performances all round.

I was also very happy to catch The Roves in support who played a buoyant set that channelled a pleasing 'The Band go power pop' vibe. Would definitely go to see them again.
Andy's (complimentary) description below is still the best/most succinct I've read.

On record they can sound a little pastiche-y of certain bands from the 60s but live they've got an energy and presence that's hard to resist. I've been a bit obsessed with Popafangout recently so was happy they managed to squeeze this in right at the end โค๏ธ
Excellent show by Chicago trio Sharp Pins at a very hot and sweaty George Tavern last night. There seems to be a heightened buzz/sense of excitement around them at the moment and it was easy to see why as they rattled their way through over 20 songs in just over an hour.
Ruth Goller's SKYLLA at Cafe Oto. Didn't know much about RG before tonight but I enjoyed the show, a sort of gently experimental audio-journey through otherworldly lands told in alternative languages.
Ooh, slightly jealous of that Arab Strap mug ๐
A little bit of Sparky's Dream โค๏ธ
Gerry Love at the Betsey Trotwood last night. A set of stripped back and sensitively delivered songs from the former Teenage Fanclub man, including some of my most loved of all time โค๏ธ
I'm also seeing them on Monday. Will look out for you ๐
This is an especially good episode of Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone.
