Austin is a city that shows up. This weekend, as people respond to ICE, there are many ways to participate. Protest. Strike. Hold vigil. Support organizers. Take care of your community. Our strength has always been in our people and in the many ways we stand together.
Grateful for the chance to speak on a panel at the University of Chicago earlier this month and connect with students about public service, local government, and the future of our cities. These conversations leave me feeling optimistic about the future of our cities.
Iβm all ears. Currently working with some immigration attorneys on something.
I was disgusted to hear that story. We are currently looking at what we might be able to do via policy. Symbolic gestures are great but I want us to bring something with teeth to protect people. We live in very troubling times.
Out of an abundance of caution, weβre rescheduling our re-election kickoff.
We donβt want anyone taking unnecessary risks just to get to an event.
