One of the things I'm currently finding difficult about my job is the disconnection between what my curricular responsibilities are and where my artistic interests are. How are all the academics navigating this divide? Do other people just get to teach what they are passionate about?
Part of the joke I made was that 90% of game design is nouns. Are there games that are more resistant to re-nouning?
Played some Gallows Corner today and it does some interesting things but moreso brought up a conversation/thoughts about when something should be a game or just a setting/supplement. What are some examples of games that *can't* be ripped about?

This is one of my favorite books of all time, I hope you have a great time!
I have never done this tbh! It always looks sparse but I think there might be more gaps in people's schedules this time around. I know a lot of folks find success with boards games or mtg so there's no reason it shouldn't work! Also say hi if you see meeeee
Those breakout con games really filled up fast. I know it's 4 days now but it also feels like there are less offerings?
What even is a good looking video game?!

Any Unity pals used Microverse? I have unfortunately decided to make a wilderness game and don't want to become uninspired by the built in terrain tools.
I can't wait to read it, it sounds great!
My Helldivers-like microgame FIREDROP and my Mothership horror comedy one shot THERE IS A GOBLIN ON ICARUS STATION are both a part of this 1,400+ item bundle raising funds entirely for Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.

Oh that's actually so exciting, I look forward to reading it when it exists!
This is a better cyberpunk game than all the other ones people talk about. Reading it made me have some really big thoughts about both game design and the point of genre so while it didn't hit in all cylinders for me, it was a very valuable read.
Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.
Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Studio is near Dupont and Lansdowne and we will have games and all their parts ready for playing but also open to other weird games always!
