We need to pass a House rule or law that requires them to work a certain number of days to get paid. Since Mike Johnson took over these people hardly ever work. When they finally come back after weeks off they work 2 days and he sends them home for 2 more weeks. Itβs ridiculous.
They cut Meals on Wheels for seniors, doctors for the VA, and food for American children - but send billions of taxpayer dollars to the Middle East for an unnecessary war of choice.
Ugh.
Pure class.
Eisenhower
A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nationβs people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.
We mustnβt let this war do so.
Holy shit this cartoon.

Masked federal agents enter private property in an attempt to detain a man in Broadview, Illinois
Never forget this: The forces rigging our economy, undermining our democracy, polluting our planet, and stoking hatred are counting on you to give up. Cynicism is how they win. Stay clear-eyed and ready for the fight ahead.
Ossoff: "We have a president who's completely out of control, a crook engaged in unprecedented corruption, who's passing one of the most unpopular agendas in history. The public is turning against him. The opposition is motivated. We can win & we have to win, but we don't have the luxury of despair"
Pete Buttigieg WARNS America:
βThey didn't stop at the law firms. They didn't stop at the Universities. They didn't even stop at the comedians. They are NOT going to stop until they have TOTAL POWER!."
The real issue isnβt left vs right.
Itβs not white vs black.
Itβs not citizen vs immigrant.
Itβs not gay vs straight.
The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest β and a lot of money invested β in dividing us, and itβs working.
Something folks are missing here: this raid wasnβt about βillegals taking American jobs.β It was about ICE storming the HyundaiβLG battery plant in Georgia, part of a $7.6B Metaplant project that isnβt even operational yet.
π§΅
This isnβt Moscow or Beijing. Itβs Chicago. Masked federal agents grabbed U.S. citizens protesting ICE and threw them into an unmarked van.
βWho are you? Where are you taking them?β people shouted. βYou are kidnapping them!β
What has America become?
βThis is about the President of the United States and his complicit lackey, Stephen Miller, searching for ways to lay the groundwork to circumvent our democracy, militarize our cities, and end elections.β β Gov. J.B. Pritzker
Some call us shortsighted if we focus on retaking Congress in the midterms rather than on what comes next. No! Thatβs like calling shortsighted those on the Titanic who focused on avoiding the iceberg rather than on the rest of the voyage. Thereβs no βrest of the voyageβ if we hit the damn iceberg!
They are not wrong.
Note to Kristi Noem:
It is far better to be mocked in a cartoon for how you look than to be shoved into the back of a U-Haul and kidnapped for how you look.
We don't need a 'Democratic Stephen Miller.' We need Democrats who will unapologetically fight for our values.
We don't need a 'Joe Rogan of the Left.' We need a progressive media ecosystem that will unapologetically fight for our values.
We don't need their playbook. We need to believe in us.
In a dramatic incident captured on video, U.S. Department of Homeland Security police Wednesday handcuffed one of Rep. Jerry Nadler aides in the congressmember's Manhattan office, which is in the same federal office building as an immigration courthouse. In the video, which was shared with Gothamist and filmed by a person who was monitoring activity in immigration court, DHS officers entered Nadlerβs district office and accused staff members of βharboring rioters.β A Nadler staffer is seen crying and being handcuffed. Another officer is at a door trying to enter a private area of the office while a staffer asks for a warrant. DHS later said in a statement that βone individualβ β the woman seen being handcuffed β had blocked police from performing a security check they intended to do based on information there were protesters in the lawmakerβs office. Later that day, protesters gathered outside of the federal building, demonstrating against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Department of Homeland Security officers invading a congressman's offices and arresting a staffer who tried to stop them is very, very bad. gothamist.com/news/homelan...
On April 24, ICE agents broke into a home of a family of US citizens in Oklahoma. The family repeatedly said we are citizens, you have the wrong people. ICE terrorized the family, ripped apart the house.
It's not "other people" that this is happening to. It's us. Open your eyes. Wake the hell up.
Only his brats had β30 dollsβ.
Horrific
They raided the wrong house.
They were all US citizens
Put the little girls in PJβs outside in the rain
Took all their cash and belongings
Denied ever being there
Thatβs our FBI, US Marshals and DHS
The Justice Department on Friday rescinded a Biden-era policy that prevented officials from searching reportersβ phone records when trying to identify government personnel who have leaked sensitive information to news organizations.
If itβs true that their only βevidenceβ against this judge is that she advised someone to leave out a side door, this is complete banana republic bullshit and should be unequivocally condemned by both parties.
When they start arresting judges weβre all in a lot of trouble
Now theyβre arresting judges who follow the rule of law.
Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI for giving an immigrant sanctuary in her chambers when ICE showed up to snatch him without a proper warrant or due process.
She did the right thing and stood up to the Trump/Patel Gestapo. β
