Leeds are now on Bluesky. And we know it’s them because they’ve verified their domain name and made it their handle - exactly what all clubs should be doing.

Diego Maradona folds the keeper like a deckchair, and causes a riot at the 1984 Copa del Rey.
Bring yer dinner.
This is where it’ll get interesting, as they’ll have to make similar decisions to what Twitter eventually made with ads/feeds etc They just became obsessed with removing echo chambers, whereas Bluesky is nice because it retains those walls and it feels more harmonious
It’s definitely a much nicer experience, looking forward to seeing what a matchday is like on here
🤣 That’s the best compliment we can ever get, when people can’t tell if it’s a fan account or official
Things like whether the hype dies down over time and people go back to X, the lack of analytics stopping more content creators moving over, Bluesky only having 20 employees so they need to grow their staffing and quick, will the open apis make it easier for bots to post, how will they monetise it
They didn’t boycott it, but pretty much every club was on Threads in the first 24 hours, this time, we’re still one of the first and Bluesky has been around for months
It does and would like nothing more than Bluesky to be a success, but it needs to prove that it’s not another Threads, where everyone jumps on it because they dislike Elon Musk, then after a few weeks decide to go back to X
It’s great, first posts on new platforms tend to do well, it’s how the engagement looks after a week, month etc. that’ll be interesting. Saw similar with Threads, but difference this time is that it looks like Bluesky is actually eating into X’s engagement
👀 Still have my doubts about Bluesky, but if you want it to continue growing, follow @leedsunited.com, share, like, comment, tag and we’ll keep posting
Trialing it atm and will be very much directed by #LUFC fans. If everyone keeps engaging/sharing with the account, we’ll do more, if it dies off like some other platforms have, we’ll move on. Asked the other day and everyone seems to want what we post on X initially, but will mix it up as we go
🔥 Nike’s graphics always hit the mark, perfect balance between image and type
Did see the venn diagram and think it’s far too nice and calm on here, it needs an #LUFC matchday meltdown to change all that 🤣
🤩 Football never stops!
#LUFCW vs York City!

Theory as of right this minute, but if Bluesky really takes off then we’ll always go where the majority of fans are
👀 Funny you should mention that…
Yeah, we stripped back a lot of the in-game posts when X removed the chrono feed and found people were only engaging with key moments/photos and shortened captions etc. Interested to see when everything is chronological, do fans get annoyed with teams posting a lot in a short space of time
It’s coming, all filmed, just needs editing but on annual leave atm
Yeah, hoping Bluesky add polls quickly with ability to have more than four options, would open up the type of questions you can ask
@leedsunited.com was originally leedsunitedfc but been playing around with the domain names, annoyingly previous links don’t redirect
If a sports team was to create an official account on Bluesky…
Would you want the same content or different that they currently post on X/Twitter?
What posts would you like to see more/less of?
Is there any content in particular not posted on X/Twitter that you’d like to see on Bluesky?
Yeah, natural that there’ll be plenty of glitches and bugs as they scale up, nice to see their devs being transparent and proactive, really does feel like the early days of Twitter
Significant move, Bluesky needs to take off now otherwise a lot of organisations are going to take a hit if they start posting on X again
Yeah, already created an account (@leedsunited.com) which will become official should Bluesky really take off. Atm we have an X account of 1 million followers, Bluesky has 15 million users in total and already starting to see some growing pains, so just being cautious
Getting the same, probably a bug as the number of users increases, big test will be whether Bluesky has the infrastructure to support all the people coming across
Hi #LUFC fans - here are some Leeds United accounts to get you started...

Yeah, there’s not an official account yet, need to see Bluesky continue to its growth before we put resources into a new platform. We were one of the first to hop on to Threads and one of the first to close it down
Good to see you too 🫡
