Any plans for GOG release?
Any plans for GOG release?
Near impossible to narrow it down to just nine. But I think these would be a good way to start a much longer list of games that were the most influential in my life.
#My9Games
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire
Oh wow, I can't believe Kojima orchestrated the whole world going to shit just so Physint can kick major ass. A true auteur.
The so called Peace President has directly bombed a total of 10 countries since he took office.
He has vowed to conquer Greenland, to starve the people of Cuba, to enable genocide in Palestine, and destroy the Iranian population.
The US has been at war for over 90% of its existence.
legitimately hoping marathon would not be bad after all the updates but after playing the server slam for a while almost no part of the game is enjoyable from the menus to the gameplay, the best art direction in a decade is unfortnately drowned out by the worst UX and game structure imaginable
Chápem, nemusí to sadnúť každému. Ja mám rád to šialené tempo a autenticky pôsobiaci náhľad do rôznych vrstiev spoločnosti. Ale treba povedať, že keby bol taký každý film, tak by to rýchlo omrzelo.
Prvý zhliadnutý Sadfieho film predpokladám? Lebo to je uňho klasika.
This isn't a criticism towards American people. More of a sad observation of how much more compliant we are when terror disguises as institutions.
However, I'm still of the opinion there should be a general strike asap. Trump's cabinet sees only $, might as well send a signal they'll get less of em.
But as long as the gov can maintain a sense of legitimacy, such resistance will never spark. As long as a semblance of normalcy prevails, the nation will gladly keep getting slowly strangled. Water's about to boil, whole country is in the pot, but barely anyone noticed. (2/3)
A government sanctioned tyranny harming its own citizens funded by their own taxes.
I can't help but think that if the US were annexed and their new overlords would be half this bad, there'd already be countless partisan cells fighting back across the nation. (1/2)
Thankfully. Embrace Lolek & Bolek, Patrick
I pray AI vomit like this will cause filmmakers to stop shooting everything with shallow depth of field. The novelty has worn off a long time ago and all that's left are films with no sense of place because everything farther than 20cm is a mushy mess. The "instagram" look. And now also AI staple.
Twitter warriors lecturing the public to turn off their screens and have sex instead:
Frankly I don't think there's another video essayist that can measure up to the absurdly high quality of editing that ArTorr consistently achieves, relentlessly driving the video forward and seamlessly supporting his every point. Check out his piece about Tony Gilroy's brilliant Andor
Is it Master Chief at least? Lol
Interesting, thank you. Who knows, a decade from now such thing might become reality.
John, I'm in no way as versed in display tech as you, so I might be completely off here, but... Couldn't this working on a high refresh OLED (not tied to specific sectors like on that LCD, but instead per pixel / line of pixels) basically give us a CRT motion clarity with the added benefits of OLED?
If supposed illegitimacy is a reason enough to defend acts of aggression like this, what are we waiting for with Putin then?
Maduro could be a vampire that eats kids for breakfast and it would still not be up to United States to remove him. Making up excuses to justify acts of a regime so arrogant and primitive they themselves don't bother coming up with any is an act low, despicable and deeply embarrassing.
We've hit a new low, though. The usual protocol used to be a performative social media post with strongly worded reprimand then followed by the most passive limp-dick real-world response imaginable, if any.
Now they're actively making up excuses for the orange man while he's going OIL! OIL! OIL!
The ineptitude of EU's leadership and diplomacy to take a stand against a clear violation of international law is once again on full display. Weak subservient cowards, the lot of them. And they never fail to remind us all about it, no matter if it's Ukraine, Gaza or now Venezuela. 🧵
Matt Walsh tweeted last year: "We've spent the last 25 years bringing "freedom" and "democracy" to countries around the globe while our own country has been systematically invaded and now our largest cities are run by foreigners and communists. If you want to know why I'm so avowedly non-interventionist, this is why." Then he tweeted today: ""This is a war for oil!!!!!" First of all, the "war" lasted like 90 minutes. Second, going to war to secure vital resources for your own people is totally legitimate. Why should we allow some third world communist shithole to control trillions of dollars worth of oil?"
Laura Loomer tweeted last year: "I’m America First, I don’t support “Regime Change”. I went on @Bannons_WarRoom to talk about Chinese aggression in Venezuela and why we need to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign Islamic terrorist organization." Then she tweeted yesterday: "Maduro has arrived at the DEA office in Manhattan. He was transported in an armored motorcade after being transported in a blindfold via helicopter & then by plane to New York after his compound in Caracas was raided by US Special Forces. Proud to be an American today! USA 🇺🇸"
Catturd tweeted last year: "Name one U.S. inspired regime change that hasn’t ended in absolute disaster." Then he tweeted yesterday: "Venezuela is now more free than New York City."
Will Chamberlain tweeted last year: "The Republican Party is no longer the party of regime change and endless wars If you want to be its standard-bearer that is a non-negotiable position" Then he tweeted yesterday: "I can think of few better uses of my tax dollars than black-bagging the head of a foreign narco-trafficking organization that enriches itself by addicting and poisoning my fellow Americans"
amazing how the entire machine can pivot within 24 hours. no need to slowly upsell the argument; just issue new marching orders
I find it hilarious how Premiere Pro shits its pants as soon as you try importing an AV1 encoded mp4 while Windows freaking MovieMaker takes it in stride
STRANGE DAYS (Bigelow, 1995)
I'm often stunned by just how amazing Need for Speed 2015 looks even today. The visual quality they achieved at the time was truly groundbreaking - especially the integration between FMV and real-time graphics.
Doubt that. Imo this is just to accommodate for CDPR's ongoing expansion. GOG is probably not that lucrative in investors' eyes. This way it can keep operating like it used to, but is no longer tied to CDPR stocks. Buyout timing checks out too considering a bump in stock price is predicted for 2026.
Closing this thread with an evergreen found in the comment section.
Oh, look, it's the "what even is an indie" conundrum with some misinformation sprinkled on top. Reminder that you could have this exact conversation about music or film and still never formulate a universally accepted definition.
And while I sympathize with everyone that feels like their livelihood is at risk with the unprecedented proliferation of AI (I myself am of the opinion that the net impact of the tech on our lives is negative) - leaving out all the nuance from conversation about AI surely won't help anyone.
