As a curator at a natural history museum, I'm gutted to learn about the dismantling of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. If anything, we need to fund, protect and preserve museum collections and uphold institutions of scientific and cultural knowledge now more than ever.

I like how you roll. I think about pinniped teeth and sea turtle beaks. Why reduce mastication or give up your teeth?
What a great resource for teaching #comparativeanatomy!

Congrats to our newest PhD student, Justin Jenkins, on wrapping up his first semester as a graduate student. Justin will be investigation the trophic ecology of Galveston Bay sea turtles. Welcome aboard.
Congrats to doctoral student Theresa Morris. Her grant to βDevelop[ing] Molecular Tools for Demographics and Distribution of Galveston Bay Estuary System Sea Turtlesβ was funded by Galveston Bay Estuary Program this month.
Congrats to now doctoral candidate Madelyn Rupp @seaturtlecenter.bsky.social and @ecomorphlab.bsky.social for passing her qualifying exams this month.
This week I was honored to receive the Regents Professor Award- the highest honor bestowed by @TAMU to faculty.
Thx to colleagues, students, staff, & volunteers that, over the years, were a part in making this possible. I owe each of you a debt of gratitude!

A pleasant Thanksgiving surprise . Our work on shark ecomechanics, which integrates bite performance with trophic ecology using stable isotopes, was officially published - a solid ecomorphological piece of work.
