lol Utena is really worth watching. As an ancient I watched it ages ago but I saw someone talking about it on tumblr the other day and they put in approximately 500 content warnings 😂 so times have changed.

I’m imagining they would share other random ships but not the main one. Very odd. It’s just weird to take a “daily whoever” account and then not share their biggest ship lol

They’re both SO enjoyable but watching the show and discovering all the layers to how AnoTomo were mapped out & how beautiful & caring they are with each other. *swoon* I rarely see it so well written!

Mind you, SoyoAnon is interesting! (As is SakiSoyo IMO— not that that would be good for anyone)

Yeah, she sees what Tomori needs and quickly adapts to it. Not in a fake way but because she wants her to be happy & comfortable.

But yes, I’m glad that you can appreciate them too. I just watched the episode where Ano-Chan (lol as Taki strokes out again) pulls out the little map Tomori gave her at the aquarium. Ahh!

The more I watch and learn of them the more I flail.

But it didn’t work.

it’s when Tomori draws her back & Anon accepts her despite Soyo using her to try to get CryCHIC. Anon’s careful as she helps Soyo with the bass and adjusting the strap on her shoulder, the way she fixes her hair & smiles accepting her that Soyo breaks.

That said, another really beautiful part about episode 10 is Tomori very brutally dragging Soyo to the stage and Anon clasping her hand around Soyo’s wrist & pulling her up when Soyo didn’t have it in herself to do it.

Soyo used Saki’s words against Anon to try to devastate her & take what she lost

out of curiosity i looked this up and penguins DO gift pebbles as a means of courtship (more specifically, to build a relationship between them and to grow a nest for their family). tomori likes giving anon rocks/trinkets? 🤯 wow, ppl weren't kidding when they said this show is loaded with symbolism

Also I really like them and they seem to be the least popular ship for Anon and you know how I roll with the rarepairs.

Even canon ships can be rarepairs if no one cares about them!

And when you see how Anon absolutely contradicts so much of how Saki approached things with Tomori it stands out even more.

AnonMori and SakiUeka are these gorgeous foils for each other and with each rewatch you can see how delicately they mapped it out.

That’s my point more than anything!

Canonically presented in the show and *why* it makes sense to me.

Like I definitely think Anon could work with Taki or Soyo, but the show gave us this beautiful relationship between AnonMori and it’s one of the rare times I have no beef with it, because it’s exquisitely designed

Oh, I’m all for poly ships and there are a few I could see in this group I just don’t see Taki or the stray cat with Tomori or anything.

The number of times Taki had a “wait what the fuck???” Expression on her face.

And she takes it out a little bit on Anon but never in ways that go way over the line. In the end she’s perfectly gracious.
