Hey, how about adding Virginia? We didn't vote for that monster and with a couple of blips have largely been run by Democrats in this century. Dems even have a 64-36 margin in the state house of delegates. We're actually a very progressive state. No longer the Old South.
Sadly, Trump is making us (i.e., the United States) lesser America. Make no mistake, we will never be the same. Even once Trump is gone, the stench will remain for a generation or more. The world -- quite rightly -- will always look upon us with suspicion. We can no longer be trusted. 🥲
I checked and it's not listed at Cinemark or at the Regal in Virginia Beach, but if it's close to streaming that's good. I still need to see The Secret Agent too, so I'll try to get to that and It Was Just an Accident this weekend or at least early in the week.
Cool. I still need to see that one as well. I know some theaters are showing some of the nominees. I need to check if it's going to be near me.

I need to give this a watch. I've been a fan of Panahi since The White Balloon. I also have a special fondness for Offside (how he managed to surreptitiously shoot that during an actual World Cup qualifying match is incredible).

Gave Death Race 2000 a rewatch sometime last year. It was pretty silly, but in an entertaining way. Haven't seen this one, but maybe when I'm in the mood I'll give it a watch.

Movies! has been airing the Mason movies on Friday nights (as MeTV did Sunday nights a few years back).
I'm pretty sure both the William Powell movies have been on TCM, but they're both very early talkies (1930). Shadow/Law is on Tubi, For the Defense on Fawesome.

Alonso didn't seem to be in love with The Bride. As some of you know, I'm a traditionalist where my Universal monsters are concerned and not enamored with the "re-imaginings." But I'd been intrigued by the 1930s Chicago angle. 🤷♂️

Right to the point. But you know what? You don't really have to be a big Elvis fan to enjoy it. At least I don't think so (being a huge Elvis fan myself, it's speculation on my part). And I have heard from people who aren't necessarily, but really enjoyed it.
The Elvis movie is great, even without IMAX. Different from anything we've seen about him before.

This is the best explanation of Baz Lurhmann's EPiC that I've seen. It's not exactly a documentary. It's not really a concert film (even though the full title is EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert). It's Elvis shown in a way we haven't quite seen before.
