I saw reporting that he’s trying to have it both ways: appear conciliatory in public but privately pushing for intervention against Iran
I’m not sure how killing young girls will help them achieve a “better future”… what an asinine thing to say
The responses to the incident basically echo what you're saying: Delroy Lindo and others acknowledged the involuntary nature of the tic, but he was disappointed no one from BAFTA reached out to him. Others pointed out that the "if you were offended" apology was off the mark too.

In some countries the outbreak of bloodshed inspires the opposition party to call for the leader to resign
It seems clear Alex Pretti, a healthcare worker, was murdered for engaging in the exact kind of community care we hope all care workers to embody: the kind that doesn’t stop at the threshold of the hospital, the clinic, but that aims to care for and support the community where and how they can

I think in the end it's all a moot point because the actions are what matters. This is definitely not something I attribute to you, but I do feel like some people are relying on cognition to make up for the fact that what people said 10+ years ago turned out to be 100% true (and not hyperbole)
I have (i'm a doctor). I'm just having a hard time seeing some of his actions as being that different from what he has done or said before. There's certainly something to be said about the slip ups (and his energy), but it still seems like a lot of the same tendencies/actions/thoughts of earlier DJT
I do sort of wonder whether what we are seeing is cognitive decline or just an individual who has realized that nearly every everyone in power is not willing to do anything to stop him (coming at this from a medical perspective)
I am increasingly finding this framing as unconvincing. The language of mental illness or dementia just isn’t appropriate. More often than not, what we are seeing is Trump leaning into his worst tendencies without any pushback.
lol this is pitiful
I don’t think gay tech people are normal (see: Sam Altman and Peter Thiel as prime examples)

I can’t bring myself to read a NYT opinion piece, but I wonder if part of the divide is the fact that one generation still holds a particular ideal about what America is and younger generations find that ideal corny and detached from what the country is and always has been
